RESUMO

This work describes the design of a semiconductor lighting system applied to omnibus interiors. The system is composed by several lighting terminals, and some of them have different purpose, once an omnibus has different inside lighting systems. All the terminals are controlled from a central panel, through a Local Interconnect Network, greatly used in automotive applications. This network enables the full control over the light emitted from each terminal and, moreover, it enables the diagnostic over failures on the system. The light emitting semiconductors characteristics are analyzed, as well as the characteristics of the most used communication protocols in automotive applications.
