RESUMO

Irreversible Thermodynamics is reviewed from a basic standpoint. A phenomenological scheme extending the classical phenomenological approach to transport problems (simultaneous and mutually interfering processes) including Onsager s relations is proposed. Non-linear relations between gradients of intensive quantities (forces) and currents (fluxes) are introduced ("non-linear effective regime") which lead to the usual linear relations ("linear regime") as na asymptotic limit. An illustrative example is presented (Thermoelectric effect) and other cases are indicated. Finally, some critical comments on the validity s domain of formalism introduced are made
