RESUMO

ABSTRACT This study we show social responsibility, as a factor relevant to modern organizations, as well as to contribute to the reduction of social disparities in that it provides to the community mechanisms to improve the quality of life. The optics of this conceptual analysis and practice of corporate social responsibility, addresses this institute through the prism of those who are benefited by the actions of a particular company, in this case the Companhia Energética do Estado do Rio grande do Norte - COSERN, awarding of public distribution of electricity in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. He fund benefited chosen for the development of the study was Norteriograndense the League Against Cancer, a reference in the State in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer, which develops for decades, his work throughout state. The purpose of this approach is to analyze the perception of the League Against Cancer Norteriograndense in relation to the actions of social responsibility promoted by COSERN, identifying them and checking the effects arising from it. This is an attempt to determine ways in which those actions can make better and more efficient, the work of the institution and studied as shown in the planning for the use of such resources within the Norteriograndense League Against Cancer. Nevertheless, the work suggests that the planning, as regards the employment of the object of the social actions of COSERN, is done in emergency and on the need that is present in the moment and can not be a more efficient assessment of the effects produced by such actions specifically.
