RESUMO

This cross-sectional research was designed to evaluated the cardiorespiratory responses to the moderated dynamic exercise in sedentary women during the second trimester of pregnancy. This work intends to offer new data that will permit a better evaluation in the application of physical activities during pregnancy. Fifteen sedentary women volunteend and were studied in two differents groups: 7 of them were in the second trimester of pregnancy with no medical or obstetrics complications (experimental group) and 8 of them were part of the control group (nonpregnant subjects). It was done a series of tests: initial physioterapical evaluation, espirometry in rest, effort test in the ergometric bicycle through a continuous proof and passive positional tactic. Heart rate, sistolic and diastolic pressure, ventilatory measures and oxygen uptake, among others, were mesured in this study. Subjects characteristics were compared by the Wilcoxon test and differences across workloads and time by Mann-Whitney test with repeated measures, with the significant leveI of 0,05 or 5 %. The analysed results showed some meaningful sthatistic differences (p <0,05) in: - the rest pregnant body temperature (36,79°C) was significant1y greater (p <0,05) than nonpregnant (36,35 °C); - the sistolic pressure during the passive positional tactic from 10 to 50 minute, which presented higher for the pregnant women (120 mmHg) in comparison to the nonpregnant (100 mmHg); - the peak of dinamic physical exercise, it presented much higher for the nonpregnant women (90 W: 65 W); -the ventilation during the dinamic physical exercise was 20 W and 30 W, there is in the fourth and fifth minute of effort, and the values were higher in the pregnant women. Some changes in the results were observed in the limit situations and spite of the sthatistical test not showing significative differences (0,1 >P >0,05), it is possible that with a larger sample, may show it, mainly in: - the rest sistolic pressure of pregnant women (110 mmHg) and nonpregnant (120 mmHg) (p = 0,0592); - the rest diastolic pressure of pregnant women (80 mmHg) and nonpregnant (75 mmHg) (p = 0,0749); -the peak heart rate ofpregnant women (122 bpm) and nonpregnant (144 bpm)(p = 0,0536) , -the ventilation during the dinamic physical exercise was 10 W and 40 W, being it greater in the pregnant women. With increased work loads the pregnant volunteers have consistently advanced values compared to the nonpregnant controle subjects, for the same parameters. We are able to conclude that the physical exercise in the second trimester of the pregnancy in sedentary women must be used with forethought
