RESUMO

The degradation of the aquatic ecosystems in increasing over time, in all the coastal áreas, where countless anthropic activities generates a series of contaminants which, may cause adverse effects on the local biota. To evaluate those effects, toxicity tests are used with the objective of preventing and/or to minimize potential impacts in those ecosystems. The toxicity tests are important tools to detect environmental contamination; however they need to be accomplished under absolutely under absolutely controlled situations, so that the resulting analysis can indeed provide prevention and control. For this purpose it is suggested the use of contaminats which can be taken as reference of the health and adaptative capacity of the organisms test. The present work had the aim to subsidize the control of the analytic quality of tests on embryos of the oyster Crassostrea rhizophorae. The test methodology was developed by Nascimento et al., (1989). The determination of the biological effect level (EC50) was possible by using the statistical programs Trimmed Spearman Karber. It was possible to establish an alternative level of effect (15%) to evaluate the cronic toxicity for Crassostrea rhizophorae determined by the organics substances, phenol 4-clorofenol and DSS (Dodecil Sulfato of Sodium), to provide more reliability to the toxicity tests by using the statistical program to determine Icp (Inhibition Concentration).Among the analyzed substances, 4-clorofenol presented the best performance as a reference chemical, being recommended as a good reference for Crassostrea rhizophorae embryo toxicity test.
