RESUMO

This work presents an isothermal, two-dimensional, compositional reservo ir model implicit in pressure and saturations and partially explicit in compositions. Only the flow terms are treated explicitly in the compositional variables. In the single phase cells the primary variable gas saturation is substituted by one compositional variable which is then treated as fully implicit. This formulation was conceived in order to simplify the jacobian matrix since its initial configuration can be reduced to a 3x3 block matrix similar to those achieved in fully implicit black-oil simulators. Capillary and gravitational effects are considered. Fluids separation conditions at surface are taken into account in the calculation of the source terms. Fluid phase equilibria and densities are computed through the Peng-Robinson equation of state. The validation of the model was conducted through the steady state two phase flow theory. Analytical and simulated results obtained showed excellent agreement. Applications to pressure tests in wells, reservo ir depletion and gas injection in reservoirs are presented. Conclusions show the effects of the relative permeability curves in deposition of liquid in gas condensate reservoirs and also the importance of the reservoir analysis based on component mass production. Computacional performance are reported in alI studied cases.
