RESUMO

In the present work the following compounds: MX2. 2aapH (M = Zn, Cd; X = Cl, Br, I, NO3 and aapH = N-(2-piridyl)acetamide), MX2.1aapH (M = Cd and X = Cl, Br), Zn(CIO4)2.3aapH, HgCl2.2aapH and HgBr2.1aapH, were prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, vibrational spectroscopy, measurements of molar conductance and thermogravimetry. The spectroscopic data together with the conductance measurements have revealed that in alI compounds the metal is bound to aapH through the pyridini Nitrogen, and the anions are coordenated, except in the case or the perchlorate. With the exception of HgCl2.2aapH and CdCl2.2aapH, alI the metaIs are bound through the Oxygen also. The compounds probably have different structures, and some of them were proposed. The thermograms have been used to draw some conclusions about the thermal stability of the compounds prepared. For the compounds MX2.2aapH (M = Zu, Cd and X = Cl, Br, I), HgCl2.2aapH and HgBr2.1aapH, thermodynamic studies were performed by using measurements from solution calorimetry, and determinations of the following thermodynamic quantities for the aapH: combustion enthalpy, standard enthalpy of formation, average values of heat capacity at constant pressure in the solid, liquid and gaseous phases. Accordingly, the standard enthalpy of formation, the reaction enthalpy in the solid phase, the "van der Waals reticular enthalpy", the "ionic reticular enthalpy" and the "bond enthalpy" were determined for the compounds studied. A discussion about the magnitude of these quantities for the compounds having the same structure, and some relation ships concerning the energetic stability of these compounds were proposad.
