Sorobã : suas implicações e possbilidades na construção do número e no processo operatório do aluno com deficiência visual

RESUMO

This work has as its main objective to make an analysis of the Sorobans role and its implications as well as its possibilities in the development of the mathematical process of the visual impaired student related process of the construction of natural, monetary and operatory numbers of the decimal numerical system. The data collection was executed during the months of March to August in the center of the students with visual impaired of the Federal District Educational Division. For this Qualitative Research with its base on active research, three students were selected accordingly to their visual impairment, subscribed as of limited vision, congenital blindness and acquired blindness. Most of the students were found to be in the process of becoming alphabetized in mathematics. As means of enquiry procedures were used; (a) active observation, (b) semi structured interviews, (c) daily report, (d) shooting, (e) recordings and (f) photographs. This research was developed when the student does not have the expected knowledge to be able to manage Soroban until he finally acquires it, phase that it is called Pre Soroban. There was a need to search for mathematical educative knowledge that had its vision on finding a new meaning to both the teacher and the students role, whilst valuing this latter as a builder of his own knowledge. According to the theory of the conceptual campus of Gérard Vergnaud, the students learning develops through strategies and steps, which diverges from the one usually taught at school, giving direction to this study. This mediation was broadly used as it was not a mere transmition of information, but rather a promoter of the development and of the students building knowledge. It also favors this methodological process, that enables the student as a constructor, with a new conception in the pedagogical setting and it contributed to a new posture in which, could value more a students speech, so that this hearing improved the creation of a new pedagogical didactic venue, in order to assist in the process of calculus in its intermediate phase, that precedes the Soroban.
