RESUMO

The present reality is a singular moment for the use of new technologies on teaching and the computer has become part of everyday school life. The investigations over possible advantages in the use of technology in teaching are important to subsidize teachers in the process of preparing new forms of approaching subject contents and at the same time show a more attractive facilitating tool for teaching. This research aims to develop activities that promote abilities in the construction of mathematics knowledge on students of the Technical Course in Agriculture and livestock and Secondary Level of the Federal Center of Technological Education (CEFET) in the city of Januária-MG. This experience is about using computer as a tool to teach elementary level Statistics, more specifically, with the spread sheet in Excel. The a posteriori analyses show that the use of this spread sheet in Excel as a pedagogical tool in the process of learning and teaching elementary Statistics is adequate. This research guides people to reflect over the need of a democratic access to computer, making it another tool for schools to develop a syllabus which aims quality on education.
