RESUMO
This research has targeted to study the probable difficulties on the use of computer systems in the daily school routine for teachers of public State schools in the city of Mogi das Cruzes. To reach this target, the research relies on deepening the theoretical fundamentals through a bibliographical review over the following authors: Freire (1979), Kenski (2003), Morin (2003), Pfromm Netto (2001), Sancho (2001), Tajra (2001), who discuss the use of computer systems in the classroom. This research describes the history of the implementation and the training public policies on computer systems, from the State Education Department, as they started up with the building up of Regional Committees of Educational Technology (Núcleos Regionais de Tecnologia Educational) at the Education Board Offices (Diretorias de Ensino), which are in charge of training projects for teachers; and the implementation of a Computer Environment Classroom at Public Schools units, searching to study the obstacles to teachers and managers (questionnaires and interviews), specially regarding the existing anguish related to not knowing the use of computer systems. The research method adopted was an approach of case study having qualitative and quantitative data. The subjects of the research were elementary school teachers; middle school as well as high school teachers from several different areas who teach at public school units, which have Computer Environment Classrooms where there are 5, 10 or more computers terminals and broadband internet connection. It was observed through the study of the data obtained that the teacher, regardless of training on computer systems provided by the State Education Department, is not yet prepared to use the new technologies inside the classroom
