RESUMO

This work describes the Hardware and Software of a Cardiac Monitor that uses a microprocessor and its expansion in a system. The microcomputer Hardware consists of a microprocessor module, a screen module and others. The screen module is the most important module because of its requirements: No-Fade Dlsplay and Freezing Trace. The microprocessor module controls the input/output devices, the conversion of patient signal (ECC) and evaluates the HEART RATE, etc. The Cardiac Monitor was tested in the Bioenginering Laboratory (C.T.P.E.) and in several hospital environment (ICU, CCU, etc.) of Instltuto "DANTE PAZZANESE" de Cardiologia. In this work it is studied several improvements to the Monitor (ex: serial link, trends of Heart Rate,etc.) and a link between a low cost Central Monitorization Unit ( IBM-PC) and the Monitor. The second part of this work discuss about a Hardware Data Patient System of "FIFTH" Generation that links the traditional Medical tools, and intelligent Bedside Monitors with Artificial Intelligence Techniques
