RESUMO

This work is a result of a research which investigated some possible changes on the view of teachers and students at Basic and Intermediate Education from Dourados, through their participation and visit at UNIARTE, since its 18th edition in 2003 until the 22nd one in 2006. Initially, in 1984, this event arose as an academic course from Arts at Unigran but during the years it reached another status. Nowadays, UNIARTE became an art display which mainly aims the integration between students and community, putting into context art and education, in its contemporary nature. During all the research, the event entertained about thirty thousand students but with a floating public from Dourados and the academic students from UNIGRAN, over the four years, it was counted about sixty thousand people visiting it. UNIARTE also promotes an effective exchange among undergraduate students, artists, teachers and pupils from Basic and Intermediate schools with some art teachers, researchers and art reviewers from different regions of Brazil. So, this study discuss the importance of an intercultural education, although it is also essential an intercultural graduation of the teachers. The work also establish a relation among school, identity, difference and art from the changes observed into a sensitive look of the students and the teachers, making possible a diversity openness, for the others, for the difference.
