Universidade Empresarial Sabesp: estudo exploratório da utilização das TIC na educação corporativa

The present research analyses the Technology of Information and Communication (TIC) in the personal and professional development of the employees of the Companhia de Saneamento Básico do Estado de São Paulo-Sabesp. The method used in this investigation was qualitative of exploratory kind, where we tried to gather data through consulting and analyzing the companys documents, interviews, statements, and search on internet, newspapers and specialized magazines. The theorist referential used in this analyses was based on studies about the Enterprise University, whose main researched authors were: Antunes (2000), Éboli (2004), Jarvis (2001), Meister (1999), Peña (2009); about the Society of Knowledge the main researched authors were: Crawford (1994), Drucker (1993), Lemos (2002), Nonaka e Takeuchi (1997)Severino (2007), Vasconcelos e Brito (2006); and about the Technology of Information and Communication, the main researched authors were: Castells (2002), Litwin (2001), Peña (2009, Siqueira (2005), Valente &Mattar (2007). The results show the advantages of the TIC in the education from distance programs by the Enterprise University Sabesp, whose goal is to capacitate its employees, present in 366 cities in Sao Paulo state, related to the companys strategic planning. We could conclude that despite those advantages, there is a lack of support from the management when the employees want to do the program by their own. This project concluded that the insertion of a policy of formation involving all Sabesps employees, specially the executive ones, could contribute to the use the TIC to the personal and professional development of the companys employees.
