1. Development of a nanoparticle generator and caracterization of cobalt nanoparticles / Desenvolvimento de um gerador de nanopartículas e caracterização de nanopartículas de cobalto
We have developed a nanoparticle (NP) generator by adapting one of the sputtering guns on a magnetron sputtering system. With it, we are able to produce nanoparticles with different types of material. The adaptation consists of including a high-pressure region in the path of the atomic vapor removed from the sputtering target. The condensation happens thermo

2. Sistema ambiental aplicado á liberação de efluente radioativo líquido / ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEM APPLIED TO RADIOACTIVE LIQUID EFFLUENT RELEASE
The current environmental administration considers the productive activity as an environmental system, defined as a group of processes, interactions, parameters and factors involved in the production. This mastering dissertation evaluated the release of the liquid radioactive effluents at Instituto de Pesquisas Energética e Nucleares (ipen), under a systemi

3. Analise da expressão de genes que codificam proteinas transportadoras em Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans e Acidithiobacillus thioxidans na presença de sulfetos metalicos / Expression analyses of genes that encode for transporter protein in Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans and Acidithiobacillus thioxidans maintained in contact with metal sulphiides
Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans and Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans are acidophilic, chemolitotrophic and mesophilic bacteria found in bioleaching environments. A. ferrooxidans uses ferrous iron and sulphur compounds as an e1ectron donor and A. thiooxidans uses on1y sulphur and sulphur compounds. Both species are aerobic using oxygen as final e1ectron acceptor.

4. Modelagem computacional de mudanças incrementais em objetos espaciais da realidade social / Computational modeling of incremental changes in spatial objects of the social reality
The social reality is determined by a variety of social phenomena that promote predetermined and interrelated changes, which depend on human cognition. They are called incremental changes, due to the fact they are considered to be stable until a new change occurs. Incremental changes occur generally as a result of human actions, and their spatio-temporal sem

5. Operações atômicas para gerenciamento baseado em políticas / Atomic operations for policy-based network management

6. Micromachinability study of Ti (CP) and Ti-6Al-4V alloy by means of single point diamond turning / Estudo da microusinabilidade do Ti (CP) e da liga Ti-6Al-4V no torneamento com ferramenta de diamante
Among the various applications where titanium and its alloys are employed, the aeronautic industry is one of the most important, because of their excellent properties such as fracture strength, corrosion resistance and high strength to weight ratio, which is maintained at high temperatures. However, the machinability of titanium and its alloys is generally c

7. Gerenciamento de transações no contexto do GERPAC/UNICOSMOS
This work defines, specifies and implements the first version of the transaction management system for GERPAC. Transactions at two different levels, as defined in MER/PAC - Entity-Relationship Model for CAD, are considered. In this way, there exist transactions related to just one project object (micro transactions) and transactions considering many object p

8. Single-chip mechatronic microsystem for surface imaging and force response studies
We report on a stand-alone single-chip (7 × 10 mm) atomic force microscopy unit including a fully integrated array of cantilevers, each of which has an individual actuation, detection, and control unit so that standard atomic force microscopy operations can be performed by means of the chip only without any external controller. The system offers drastically
