1. Comparison between refraction measured by Spot Vision ScreeningTM and subjective clinical refractometry
OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of Spot Vision ScreeningTM as an autorefractor by comparing refraction measurements to subjective clinical refractometry results in children and adult patients. METHODS: One-hundred and thirty-four eyes of 134 patients were submitted to refractometry by Spot and clinical refractometry under

2. Instrumento eletro-óptico para o estudo do sistema de inibição da acomodação ocular / Electro-optical instrument to study of inhibting ocular accomadation process
In this work it is described the development and construction of an electro-optical instrument It analyzes the process of inhibiting ocular accommodation used in the dynamic refractive exams. Due to no use of drugs to dilate and paralyze the pupil and the crystalline lens, variations in the ocular dioptric power can occur, becoming those exams ineffective an

3. Image Processing and Analysis for Measuring Ocular Refraction Errors / "Processamento e análise de imagens para medição de vícios de refração ocular"
This work presents a computational system that uses Machine Learning (ML) techniques to assist in ophthalmological diagnosis. The system developed produces objective and automatic measures of ocular refraction errors, namely astigmatism, hypermetropia and myopia from functional images of the human eye acquired with a technique known as Hartmann-Shack (HS), o

4. Sistema de medidas automáticas de vícios de refração ocular. / Automatic measuring system of ocular refractive errors.
The purpose of the present work is the development of an objective and automatic system for ocular refractive errors measurements. Hence, a strong interaction between Physics and Ophthalmology was fundamentally important in order to provide the success of the work four systems have been developed, where three of them are completely different from each other

5. Clinical evaluation of the Allergan Humphrey 500 autorefractor and the Nidek AR-1000 autorefractor.
AIMS/BACKGROUND: The intentions of this study were to estimate agreement between two different autorefractors and standard subjective refraction techniques and to evaluate the clinical implications of relying on the autorefractor measurements. METHODS: Subjective refraction was carried out on 448 cycloplegic eyes and compared with cycloplegic readings with t
