1. Study of the dough structure of bread made from different fermentation processes / Estudo da estrutura de massas de pães elaboradas a partir de diferentes processos fermentativos

2. Desenvolvimento e caracterização reológica de formulações especiais de fondue de chocolate / Development and rheological characterization of chocolate fondue special formulations
Chocolate fondue is a chocolate product which is consumed melted with fruits and cakes. There is a growing interest by consumers in foods that brings some healthy benefits. Brazilian nut oil, oats and omega-3 are some of the most famous functional ingredients nowadays. Thus, the aim of this work was developing enriched formulations containing these ingredien

3. Desenvolvimento do forjamento a morno de um componente mecânico com extrusão reversa e direta / Development of warm forging of a mechanical part with back and forward extrusion

Sensorial and instrumental profile of wild honeys of bees africanized (Apis mellifera) of five mesorregiões of the state of Maranhão.
As botanical and floral origin and depending on the budding, place, climatic conditions and techniques of preparation, the honey can vary in coloration, density, aroma and flavor. The multifloral honey, the most common in such a way in Brazil as north-eastern of this, is due to great diversity of plants. The sensorial properties are the main parameters in th

5. Comparative analysis of dentin apical extrusion through different manual and rotary instrumentation root canal technique / Análise comparativa in vitroda extrusão apical de dentina produzida por diferentes técnicas de instrumentação manuais e rotatórias nos canais radiculares
Patients general health is fundamental during endodontic therapy. Thus, we must minimize the harmful instrumentation effects in the periapical tissues. The aim of this study was to compare the amount of solid material extruded beyond the apical foramen among 2 manual instrumentation techniques: Step-Back and the Oregons technique, as well as 3 mechanorotary

6. Direct measurement of changes in sodium pump current in canine cardiac Purkinje fibers
Purkinje fibers from dog hearts may have either a “high“ resting potential of about -90 mV or a “low“ resting potential of about -40 mV when immersed in low-Cl- solution containing 4 mM K+. Brief exposure of Purkinje fibers at the low level of resting potential to K+-free fluid causes further depolarization, and return to K+-containing solution elici

7. Stimulated calcium efflux from fura-2-loaded human platelets.
1. The reduction of cytoplasmic free calcium, [Ca2+]i following stimulation, has been investigated in fura-2-loaded human platelets in the presence of low extracellular calcium concentration. Thrombin produced a rapid rise in [Ca2+]i which then fell back to the basal level within 2 min. 2. Ionomycin produced a rapid elevation in [Ca2+]i which then declined t

8. Involvement of Genes on a Megaplasmid in the Acid-Tolerant Phenotype of Rhizobium leguminosarum Biovar Trifolii
The acid-tolerant Rhizobium leguminosarum biovar trifolii strain ANU1173 exhibited several new phenotypes when cured of its symbiotic (Sym) plasmid and the second largest megaplasmid. Strain P22, which has lost these two plasmids, had reduced exopolysaccharide production and cell mobility on TY medium. The parent strain ANU1173 was able to grow easily in lab

9. Role of the plasma membrane proton pump in pH regulation in non-animal cells.
Possible methods by which eukaryotic cells can regulate intracellular pH (pHi) in response to experimental acid loading were investigated by using as a model cell the fungus Neurospora. Attention was focused on the role of membrane transport in such regulation, starting from the fact that this organism possesses a powerful electrogenic proton extrusion pump.

10. The basis for the membrane potential of quiescent cells of the canine coronary sinus.
During prolonged periods of quiescence, the membrane potential of cells in the isolated canine coronary sinus, exposed to normal Tyrode solution containing 4 mM-K, declines to about -60 mV. The nature of the resting potential was investigated, in small strips of coronary sinus tissue mounted in a fast-flow system, by recording the membrane potential response

11. Some properties of a system for sodium-dependent outward movement of magnesium from metabolizing human red blood cells.
1. In agreement with the report by Féray & Garay (1986) it is shown that Mg2+ leaves human red cells mainly by a saturable pathway at a maximal rate of some 200 mumol 1(-1) cells h(-1) only if the medium contains Na+.Mg2+0.5 (i.e. the free Mg2+ concentration for half-maximal rate) at the internal membrane surface is 1.3 mM and the dissociation constant for
