1. La invención del neutrino: un análisis epistemológico
By 1930 the explanation of Beta radioactive decay produced a crisis in the domain of particle physics. Conservation of energy, momentum and quantum statistics seemed to be challenged. Pauli succeeded in solving all these anomalies by postulating the existence of neutrinos inside atomic nuclei. But he did it at the cost of assuming a model of the nucleus that

4. CEFALOSPORINAS E SURFACTANTE NÃO-IÔNICO EM EFLUENTE HOSPITALAR: DETERMINAÇÃO, DEGRADAÇÃO POR MEIO DE FOTÓLISE E ELETROCOAGULAÇÃO E IDENTIFICAÇÃO DE SUBPRODUTOS E METABÓLITOS / CEFALOSPORINS AND NON IONIC SURFACTANTS IN HOSPITAL WASTEWATER: DETERMINATION, DEGRADATION BY MEANS OF PHOTOLYSIS AND ELECTROCOAGULATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF BYPRODUCTS AND METABOLITES
The currently incorrect and excessive consumption of pharmaceuticals and surfactants, mainly domestic usage, has become a concern to the scientific community around the world, due to the environmental consequences with regard to the bacterial resistance (characteristic of antibiotics), and alteration of hormonal systems (provoked by the degradation products

5. STUDY OF THE EFFECTS OF STERILE NEUTRINOS IN BETA DECAY EXPERIMENTS / ESTUDO DOS EFEITOS DE NEUTRINOS ESTÉREIS EM EXPERIMENTOS DE DECAIMENTO BETA

6. Espectro de excitação para modelos de teorias quânticas de campo na rede: modelos puramente fermiônicos e modelos de cromodinâmica quântica / Excitation spectrum for quantum field theory models on the lattice: pure fermionic models and quantum chromodynamics models
In this thesis, we obtain, from a mathematically rigorous point of view, the low-lying energy-momentum spectrum of two $3+1$ dimensional imaginary time lattice quantum filed theory with fermion fields (we give explicit results for the case $d = 3$ and Dirac matrices): a pure fermionic model with quartic interaction in the $N$-component fermion field and a qu

7. Femtoscopic correlations in multiparticle production and Beta-Decay
The basics of formalism of femtoscopic and spectroscopic correlations are given, the orthogonal character of these correlations is stressed. The similarity and difference of femtoscopic correlations in multiparticle production and beta-decay is discussed.

8. Estudo do decaimento β- do 193Os / Study on the β- decay of Os-193

9. Pseudo-orbital SO(6) symmetry for pf-shell nuclei
This work studies the pseudo-orbital SO(6) symmetry for the first half of the {2${\rm p}_{\frac{1}{2}}$}{2${\rm p}_{\frac{3}{2}}$}{1${\rm f}_{\frac{5}{2}}$} shell (denoted as the pf-shell). The spectra and beta decay are calculated for nuclei Ni, Cu and Zn with A=58, and the comparison to experiment prefers the \mbox{$\widetilde{\rm SO}(6)$} limit to the \mb

10. Investigation of excited levels in 193Ir from the beta decay of 193Os
The excited states in 193Ir populated by the beta- decay of 193Os were investigated via gamma-gamma coincidence analysis. Three levels at 517, 563 and 621 keV, previsouly seen only in nuclear reaction studies, were observed in the present measurements; the 487 keV transition from the 849 keV level was identified, providing good evidence that the levels at 84

11. Decay of 155Sm
The beta decay of 155Sm (T1/2 ~ 22min) has been investigated by gamma spectroscopy measurements. The single and coincidence spectra were taken using HPGe detectors with high energy resolution. The energy and relative intensities of 42 gamma-rays have been determined, most of them with a better precision than previously. The gamma-transitions at 205.7keV and

12. Lorentz invariance for mixed neutrinos
We show that a proper field theoretical treatment of mixed (Dirac) neutrinos leads to non-trivial dispersion relations for the flavor states. We analyze such a situation in the framework of the non-linear relativity schemes recently proposed by Magueijo and Smolin. We finally examine the experimental implications of our theoretical proposals by considering t
