1. Effects of Citrus Sudden Death Disease on Fatty Acid Profile of Orange Tree Bark
Citrus sudden death (CSD) is a disease that has affected millions of orange trees in Brazil, leading to economic losses in the order of billions of US dollars. This article examines the effects of CSD on the fatty acid composition of triacylglycerides (TAG) extracted from rootstock and scion bark. The fatty acid profile determined by gas chromatography showe

2. Phytotoxicity and physiological changes in Schinus terebinthifolius Raddi under simulated 2,4-D drift and dicamba
ABSTRACT The use of auxin mimics herbicides in agriculture is widespread in a great diversity of crops. The indiscriminate use of herbicides can cause adverse effects in the plants. Among the plant species that stand out for being highly competitive and resistant to biotic and abiotic stresses, it is the brazilian peppertree (Schinus terebinthifolius Raddi.)

3. Evaluation of fisheries management strategies using a biotic integrity index in floodplain lakes in the lower Solimões River, Amazonas, Brazil

4. The invasive tropical tanner grass decreases diversity of the native aquatic macrophyte community at two scales in a subtropical tidal river
ABSTRACT The tropical tanner grass, Urochloa arrecta, is one of the worst aquatic plant invaders in Brazilian freshwater ecosystems. This study aimed to compare beds of macrophytes dominated and without U. arrecta in the Guaraguaçu River, a subtropical tidal river in South Brazil, to analyze effects that this invasive grass has on the biodiversity of native

5. Effect of high temperature and recovery from stress on crop–weed interaction
ABSTRACT Biotic and abiotic stresses, either individually or in combination, may affect soybean growth and development negatively, besides competitiveness with weeds. This study aimed at evaluating the effect of heat stress and plant recovery on crop–weed interaction by analyzing growth variables. Experiments were set up as replacement series of soybean wi

6. IS BIOTIC INTEGRITY OF URBAN FORESTS REMANTS RELATED WITH THEIR SIZE AND SHAPE?
ABSTRACT The Brazilian Atlantic Forest (BAF) is one of the biodiversity hotspots, but in the last decades, it has been fragmented due to agricultural and urban-industrial expansion, which has a strong impact on forest fragments. The goal of this study was to analyze the Biotic Integrity Index (BII) in fragments of BAF in two medium-sized cities in Southeaste

7. Biosorption Potential of the Aspergillus sp. and Insights into Secondary Metabolism in the Presence of Copper and Lead
The fungus Aspergillus sp. was isolated from copper mining rejects and cultured in a liquid culture medium (potato dextrose, PD) enriched with CuSO4.5H2O and Pb(NO3)2 in different concentrations. By flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) it was observed that fungus absorbed 86% of both copper and lead, with initial concentrations of 100, 500 and 1000 mg

9. Trade-off in plant-ant interactions: seasonal variations

11. Morphology of yellow passion fruit seedlings submitted to triazole induced growth inhibition

12. Influences of plant density and fruit thinning on watermelon hybrid production cultivated in different seasons
