1. The Effect of Psychotherapy on Anxiety, Depression, and Quality of Life of Patients with Heart Failure: A Randomized Clinical Trial
Abstract Background Patients with heart failure often experience depression, anxiety, and impacts on quality of life. Psychotherapeutic interventions have been used for chronic conditions, including cardiovascular diseases, showing improvement in mental health. However, no studies have assessed the effects of a psychological intervention using psychoanalys

2. ON HYPOTHESIS TESTS FOR COVARIANCE MATRICES UNDER MULTIVARIATE NORMALITY
In this paper we proposed a new statistical test for testing the covariance matrix in one population under multivariate normal assumption. In general, the proposed and the likelihood-ratio tests resulted in larger values of estimated powers than VMAX for bivariate and trivariate cases. VMAX was not sensitive to general changes in the covariance (correlation)

3. Efeito do exercício físico durante a gravidez sobre o fluxo sanguíneo feto-placentário e o crescimento fetal : ensaio controlado e aleatorizado / Effect of exercise during pregnancy on the blood flow fetal-placental and fetal growth : randomized controlled trials
Introduction: Fetal growth has always been one of the major concerns regarding the practice of exercise during pregnancy, with discussions on whether the redistribution of fetoplacental blood flow during physical exercise and the bypass of blood from the viscera to the muscles could lead to transitory fetal hypoxia. Objective: To study the. E effect of super

5. JOINT MODELING OF FIXED INTEREST RATES LOG-RETURNS BASED ON TAIL DEPENDENCE MEASURES / MODELAGEM DA DISTRIBUIÇÃO CONJUNTA DOS LOG-RETORNOS DE TAXAS DE JUROS PRÉ-FIXADAS A PARTIR DE MEDIDAS DE DEPENDÊNCIA DE CAUDA
Using the concepts of copula we can represent and interpret the dependence structure presented in random vectors with clarity, particularly in bivariate vectors. In bivariate analysis, the role of both heterogeneous tail-dependence coefficient and homogenous tail- dependence coefficient are to study a measure of dependence when variables reach extreme values

6. Ecophysiological attributes of hybrid DKB-390 and sthocastic model for predicting grain productivity / Atributos ecofisiológicos do híbrido DKB-390 e modelo estocástico para previsão da produtividade de grãos
Maize is on of the world most important crops, given that the products generated from this cereal are largely used by sectors like starch industry, animal and human nutrition, as well as biomass energy production and refineries. For these reasons, there is frequently a huge interest in knowing the potential adoption of the main available genotypes in relatio

7. Evolution of continuous variation: direct approach through joint distribution of genotypes and phenotypes.
The evolutionary dynamics of the joint distribution of genotypes and phenotypes is studied. The model, originally devised to study the joint effects of Mendelian and other types of transmissions, provides results of interest also to the theory of direct Mendelian transmission with natural selection. Assuming bivariate normal distributions, it is shown that i

8. Prediction of Selection Response for Threshold Dichotomous Traits
This paper presents a formula to predict expected response to one generation of truncation selection for a dichotomous trait under polygenic additive inheritance. The derivation relies on the threshold liability concept and on the normality assumption of the joint distribution of additive genetic values and their predictors used as selection criteria. This f

9. Diagnostic distance of high grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia from normal prostate and adenocarcinoma.
OBJECTIVE: To develop a distance measure based methodology to support the morphological evaluation of high grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN), a direct precursor of prostate cancer. METHODS: Eight morphological and cellular features were analysed in 20 cases of high grade PIN found in radical prostatectomy specimens from patients with adenocarci
