1. Estudo experimental da microfiltração tangencial com membrana cerâmica aplicada na clarificação da vinhaça / Experimental study of cross flow microfiltration with ceramic membrane applied in clarifying the vinasse
This present work studied the process of cross flow microfiltration using tubular ceramic applied in the vinasse clarification from sugar cane, analyzing fluid dynamic features of process and the types of pore blocking applied to math models. In this research was used alfa-alumina (alfa-AL IND.2O IND. 3) ceramic membrane with pore size of 1.2 müm and 0.8 m

2. Local persistence and blocking in the two-dimensional blume-capel model
In this paper we study the local persistence of the two-dimensional Blume-Capel Model by extending the concept of Glauber dynamics. We verify that for any value of the ratio alpha = D/J between anisotropy D and exchange J the persistence shows a power law behavior. In particular for alpha < 0 we find a persistence exponent thetal = 0:2096(13), i.e. in the Is

3. Reversal and inhibition of cholera toxin-induced secretion in isolated rabbit ileum.
1. Cholera toxin (1 microgram/ml) abolished net fluid absorption by everted sacs of rabbit ileum, leading to net fluid secretion. This action occurred via the toxin-catalysed ADP ribosylation of the stimulatory GTP-binding protein Gs which is linked to adenylate cyclase. Nicotinamide (10 mM), a reaction product of ADP ribosylation, reversed cholera toxin-ind

4. Kinetics of activation of the sodium conductance in the squid giant axon.
The time course of the rise in sodium conductance during positive voltage-clamp pulses was measured in squid giant axons perfused with CsF and immersed in low-sodium solutions. The initial transients were eliminated by subtraction of records made after blocking the sodium channels with tetrodotoxin. The value of tau m as defined by Hodgkin & Huxley (1952) pa
