1. Assessment of broiler surface temperature variation when exposed to different air temperatures
This study was conducted to determine the effect of the air temperature variation on the mean surface temperature (MST) of 7- to 35-day-old broiler chickens using infrared thermometry to estimate MST, and to study surface temperature variation of the wings, head, legs, back and comb as affected by air temperature and broiler age. One hundred Cobb® broilers

2. The acceptance rate of young wasps by alien colonies depends on colony developmental stages in the swarm-founding wasp, Polybia paulista von ihering (Hymenoptera: Vespidae)
In social insects, newly emerged individuals learn the colony-specific chemical label from their natal comb shortly after their emergence. These labels help to identify each individual's colony of origin and are used as a recognition template against which individuals can discriminate nestmates from non-nestmates. Our previous studies with Polybia paulista v

3. Energetic and protein diet for adults of Apis mellifera Linnaeus 1758 (Hymenoptera: Apidae). / Dietas energÃticas e protÃicas para adultos de Apis mellifera Linnaeus, 1758 (Hymenoptera: Apidae)
The diet fed to adults of Apis mellifera in confinement is a relevant factor in the survival of these insects. In times of nectar shortage, a feeding supplementation with a solution of hydrolyzed sucrose through acid and heating can be given to the hive; citric acid found in lemon juice could be used. In this research, the survival of these confined insects

4. Odontogenic myxoma : clinicopathological and immunohistochemical analyse of 67 cases / Mixomas odontogenicos : analise clinicopatologica e imunohistoquimica de 67 casos
The aim of this study was to analyze the immunohistochemical profile and clinical, radiographical and histopathological characteristics of 67 cases of odontogenic myxoma (OM), as well as to report the greatest series related in the world literature. Females were more affected with 48 cases (71,64%) whereas males were in 19 (26.83%), male-female ratio 1:2.5.

5. Effect of the brood comb cell size on the morphologic variability of the africanized honey bees (Apis mellifera) and on the infestation and reproduction of the mite Varroa jacobsoni. / Efeito do tamanho da célula do favo de cria sobre a variabilidade morfológica das abelhas africanizadas (Apis mellifera) e sobre a infestação e reprodução do ácaro Varroa jacobsoni.
The purposes of the present work were: 1. To determine the effect of different sizes of worker brood cells in new and old combs built naturally by Africanized and European bees on the weight and morphology of emerging worker honey bees in africanized honey bee colonies (Apis mellifera). 2. To examine the influence of the smaller worker cells of the old comb

6. Effects of bisphenol-A on the growth of comb and testes of male chicken
Bisphenol-A (BPA) has been reported to have some xenoestrogenic effects on the reproductive system of male animals. In this study, we examined the growth of combs and testes of the male chickens exposed to BPA. White leghorn male chicks were administered 200 mg BPA orally every week from 2 wk of age. The combs and testes were examined at 16 wk of age. The bo
