1. Thermal Properties of the Blends of Methyl and Ethyl Esters Prepared from Babassu and Soybean Oils
Fatty acid esters (methyl and ethyl) prepared from babassu nut oil were blended with the respective esters from soybean oil. These binary blends (babassu:soybean) were made in proportions of 10:90, 20:80, 30:70, 40:60, and 50:50 (vol%). The ester content of all the blends was higher than 96.5%, which is the minimum value required by the Brazilian National Ag

2. Propriedades térmicas, estruturais e ópticas de vidros germanatos de bismuto e sua cristalização abaixo da temperatura de transição vítrea / Thermal, structural and optical properties of bismuth germanate glasses and their crystallization below the glass transition temperature

3. Modified method for obtaining the critical cooling rate for vitrification of polymers
Due to the relevance of the critical cooling rate, Rc, for glasses, Barandiarán and Colmenero (BC) developed a method for calculating Rc as a function of the crystallization temperature on cooling obtained from thermal analysis. The critical cooling rate is obtained by the extrapolation method to conditions of infinity undercooling. However, for polymers, t

4. Effect of vacuum drying on protein-mannitol interactions: The physical state of mannitol and protein structure in the dried state
The purpose of the present studies was to systematically investigate protein-mannitol interactions using vacuum drying, to obtain a better understanding of the effect of protein/mannitol wt/wt ratios on the physical state of mannitol and protein secondary structure in the dried state. Solutions containing β-lactoglobulin (βLg):mannitol (1∶1–1∶15 wt/w
