1. The Effectiveness of Psycho-Educational and Cognitive-Behavioral Counseling on Female Sexual Dysfunction
Abstract Introduction Sexual function is a multidimensional phenomenon that is affected by many biological and psychological factors. Cognitive-behavioral sex therapies are among themost common nonpharmacological approaches to psychosexual problems. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of psychoeducational and cognitive-beh

2. Ore resource estimation based on radial based functions - Case study on União Luiz and Morro do Carrapato Gold Deposits (Alta Floresta Gold Province)
Abstract Radial basis functions can be used as an alternative method for mineral resource estimation when ordinary kriging cannot be done because it is impossible to calculate an experimental variogram. Interpolation based on radial based functions is a method that is similar to ordinary kriging. In this context, this article presents the results of gold res

3. SARCOPENIC OBESITY NEGATIVELY AFFECTS MUSCLE STRENGTH, PHYSICAL FUNCTION AND QUALITY OF LIFE IN OBESE ELDERLY WOMEN

4. Translation, cross-cultural adaptation and analysis of the psychometric properties of the lower extremity functional scale (LEFS): LEFS- BRAZIL
BACKGROUND: There is a lack of questionnaires in Brazilian Portuguese to evaluate patient-reported lower limb function. OBJECTIVE: To translate, cross-culturally adapt to the Brazilian population, and evaluate the psychometric properties of the Lower Extremity Functional Scale (LEFS). METHOD: The LEFS was translated by two independent assessors and

5. Detection of dysphagia during the acute phase of ischemic cerebrovascular accident. Proposition of behavior based on the characterization of risk factors / Detecção de disfagia na fase aguda do acidente vascular cerebral isquêmico. Proposição de conduta baseada na caracterização dos fatores de risco
Oropharyngeal Dysphagia is a common manifestation presented in the acute phase of cerebrovascular accident (CVA). The aspiration resulting from the difficulties of deglutition is a symptom that should be considered due to the frequent occurrence of aspirative pneumonia that could influence the patients recovery, causing complications to the general clinical

The aim of this work is determining a 3D QSAR model for a homologous series of substituted pyrimidines with known anti-inflammatory activities. Previous results from classic QSAR (which include AM1 calculated parameters) have shown the importance of electronic parameters in the successful prediction of a novel and more active compound. The first step was to

8. ComparaÃÃo de dados cintilogrÃficos entre afixaÃÃo miocÃrdica do Sestamibi-Tc99m com a doTÃlio-201 no estudo do miocÃrdio hibernante
The aim of this study was to carry out a quantitative analysis in order to compare 99mTc-sestamibi (99mTc-MIBI) uptake at rest with that of Thallium-201 (201Tl) among patients with ejection fraction lower than 35%. Methods: twenty-eight patients (average age 63 Â 14 years) with ischemic cardiopathy, were submitted to scintigraphy with 201Tl and 99mTc-MIBI.

9. Spatial homogeneity and redshift-distance laws
Spatial homogeneity in the radial direction of low-redshift galaxies is subjected to Kafka-Schmidt V/Vm tests using well-documented samples. Homogeneity is consistent with the assumption of the Lundmark (quadratic redshift-distance) law, but large deviations from homogeneity are implied by the assumption of the Hubble (linear redshift-distance) law. These de

10. Preventing errors when estimating single channel properties from the analysis of current fluctuations.
The conductance, number, and mean open time of ion channels can be estimated from fluctuations in membrane current. To examine potential errors associated with fluctuation analysis, we simulated ensemble currents and estimated single channel properties. The number (N) and amplitude (i) of the underlying single channels were estimated using nonstationary fluc

11. Detecting patients with Alzheimer's disease suitable for drug treatment: comparison of three methods of assessment.
BACKGROUND. Therapy to enhance cholinergic function in the brain is under evaluation for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Tetrahydroaminoacridine (tacrine) has recently received a product licence in the United States of America for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, and the licence application in the United Kingdom will shortly be reviewed. It is the

12. Inhibition of the alveolar macrophage oxidative burst by a diffusible component from the surface of the spores of the fungus Aspergillus fumigatus.
BACKGROUND: Aspergillus fumigatus is a fungus that grows on dead and decaying organic matter in the environment and whose spores are present ubiquitously in the air. The fungus causes a range of diseases in the human lung. A study was undertaken to demonstrate and partially characterise an inhibitor of the macrophage respiratory burst from the surface of A f
