2. Study of different shape Electromagnetic Band Gap (EBG) structures for single and dual band applications
In this paper, single and dual band EBG structures for wider bandwidth are proposed. In each of the discussed EBGs, a metallic patch of regular geometry is chosen for the unit element. The patch is further modified by cutting slots to get extra inductance and capacitance which results into lower cut-off frequency and larger bandwidth. The proposed EBG struct

Changes on floristic composition and phytosociological and damage we evaluated in forest subjected to reduced-impact logging (RIL) in the municipality of Caracaraí in the state of Roraima. The experiment consisted in the installation of nine permanent plots (1 ha each), under the completely randomized design with three replications and three treatments (T1

Interrupted cutting turning process evaluation using frequencies and forces analisys.

O delineamento experimental utilizado f

6. Isoenzyme variation in the leaf-cutting ants Acromyrmex heyeri and Acromyrmex striatus (Hymenoptera: formicidae)
This is the first study of isoenzyme variability in the leaf-cutting ants (Myrmicinae, Attini) Acromyrmex heyeri (Forel, 1899) and A. striatus (Roger, 1863) which are common throughout the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. We studied the alloenzyme variability of malate dehydrogenase (MDH), α-glycerophosphate dehydrogenase (α-GPDH) and amylase

Topology optimization method applied to the design of transducers sonotrodos piezoelectric.
This work aims at the development of a method based on Topology Optimization to design a mechanical structure, called sonotrode, which is a device usually connected to a high power piezoelectric transducer (mechanical device capable of converting electric energy into mechanical displacement or vice-versa). A sonotrode transmits mechanical vibrations of a pie

9. Morphophysiological characteristics and herbage accumulation in mombaça grass subjected to defoliation regimes / Características morfofisiológicas e acúmulo de forragem em capim-mombaça submetido a regimes de desfolhação
Grazing systems that take into account the rhythm of regrowth of forage plants after defoliations can optimise herbage accumulation and ensure the control of sward structure. In these context, the objective was to evaluate patterns of response of Panicum maximum cv. Mombaça to defoliation in two experiments using measurements of sward morphogenetic and stru

10. Evaluation of cutting forces and prediction of chatter vibrations in milling
The prediction of chatter vibrations between the cutter and workpiece is important as a guidance to the machine tool user for an optimal selection of depth of cut and spindle rotation, resulting in maximum chip removal rate without this undesirable vibration. This can be done by some approaches. In this work, an analytical method is applied in which the time

12. Purification of BsuE methyltransferase and its application in genome mapping.
We have used a combination of BsuE methyltransferase (M-BsuE) and NotI restriction enzyme to cut genomic DNA at a subset of NotI sites. The usefulness of this system is shown in a re-examination of the restriction map of the human MHC. Combinations of methylases and restriction enzymes can be used to generate cuts at different frequencies in genomic DNA, suc
