1. The mechanism: how dental resorptions occur in ameloblastoma

In the last years, knowledge about the functionality of tropical forest has grown. Ways of quantifying beta-diversity causes are still under developing and questions about what factors determine diversity variation, especially on a regional scale, have not been answered yet. Our aim was to identify the drivers that are defining variation of functional and sp

3. From demand for money to liquidity preference : a post-keynesian interpretation / Da demanda por moeda a preferencia pela liquidez : uma interpretação pos-keynesiana
The interpretation suggested in the present study emphasizes the broad character of liquidity preference theory, namely, as a theory of asset choice and pricing in general. To this end, the thesis starts with the explanation of the motives to demand money, as well as the connections between these motives and the uncertainty that permeates the economic enviro

5. Construção de sistemas baseados em conhecimento interativos : arquitetura e processo de desenvolvimento usando padrões de interação
Knowledge-Based Systems (KBS) intend to solve complex problems through the acquisition, representation, and exploration of the expert knowledge. However, one best practical acceptance of this technology depends on the ability of KBSs to provide forms of interaction with users, such as explanation, cooperation, argumentation, and criticism, thus, allowing the

6. Factors that describe a successful rural entrepreneur. / Caracterização dos fatores relacionados ao sucesso de um empreendedor rural.

Several variables were suggested as playing important roles in explaining why a farmer is considered successful or not,

7. Identification of a major I-Ek-restricted determinant of hen egg lysozyme: limitations of lymph node proliferation studies in defining immunodominance and crypticity.
We have chemically analyzed the peptides presented by I-Ek molecules after processing of hen egg lysozyme (HEL) by a murine B-lymphoma line or by splenocytes. In both cases, the identified peptides were derived from a single region of HEL, containing the core residues 85-96 with heterogeneous N and C termini. This was a surprising result because this determi

8. Meander tail reveals a discrete developmental unit in the mouse cerebellum.
Analyses of phenotypic mutations with altered patterns of cellular organization in invertebrate systems have lead to the identification of genes important to histogenesis. Efforts to identify genes defining segments or compartments in mammalian systems and demonstrate a role for such genes in the establishment of the cellular architectonics of the brain have

9. Molecular Genetics of Herpes Simplex Virus VI. Characterization of a Temperature-Sensitive Mutant Defective in the Expression of All Early Viral Gene Products
The herpes simplex virus 1 (HFEM) mutant tsB7 failed to express any detectable viral polypeptides and did not significantly inhibit host cell protein synthesis in infected cells maintained at the nonpermissive temperature. The mutant could complement the growth of a coinfecting temperature-sensitive mutant virus differing in plaque phenotype and thus appeare
