1. Bond strength assessment of a universal adhesive system in etch-and-rinse and self-etch modes

4. Long-term bonding efficacy of adhesives containing benzodioxioles as alternative co-initiators
Abstract This study evaluated the three-year lifespan of the bond to dentin of experimental self-etch adhesives containing benzodioxole derivatives – 1,3-benzodioxole (BDO) and piperonyl alcohol (PA) – as co-initiator alternative to amines. Adhesive resins were formulated using Bis-GMA, TEGDMA, HEMA, camphorquinone and different co-initiators: BDO, PA or

5. Evaluation of degree of conversion, microtensile bond strength and mechanical properties of three etch-and-rinse dental adhesives
Abstract This study evaluated microtensile bond strength (µTBS), degree of conversion, modulus of elasticity and ultramicrohardness of three etch-and-rinse adhesives systems. The materials evaluated were: Ambar (FGM), Optibond (Kerr) and Magic Bond (Vigodent). The degree of conversion was analyzed by FTIR/ATR. To evaluate bond strength (μTBS) in dentin, 15

6. Water interaction and bond strength to dentin of dye-labelled adhesive as a function of the addition of rhodamine B
ABSTRACT Objective This study investigated the effect of the fluorescent dye rhodamine B (RB) for interfacial micromorphology analysis of dental composite restorations on water sorption/solubility (WS/WSL) and microtensile bond strength to dentin (µTBS) of a 3-step total etch and a 2-step self-etch adhesive system. Material and Methods The adhesives Adp

7. The Use of Montmorillonite Clays as Reinforcing Fillers for Dental Adhesives
The aim of this study was to obtaining an adhesive made of dimethacrylate copolymer and clay particles in different concentrations. The samples were prepared by light curing and were evaluated by XRD, FTIR and TGA as well as by measuring flexural strength, elasticity modulus and tensile resistance. The XRD and the mechanical test results indicated that the s

8. Anterior composite restorations in clinical practice: findings from a survey with general dental practitioners
Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess technical preferences of general dental practitioners when restoring anterior composite restorations. How the level of clinical experience or post-graduate training infuenced their options was also tested. Material and Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed using a questionnaire with general denta

9. Effects of zirconia nanoparticles addition to experimental adhesives on radiopacity and microhardness
AIM: To evaluate the radiopacity and microhardness (KHN) of experimental dental adhesives (EX). The experimental adhesive resins of the present study were formulated based on the simplified adhesive system Ambar (FGM). METHODS: Five EX with different concentrations of zirconia nanoparticles [0(EX0), 15(EX15), 25(EX25), 30(EX30) e 50%(EX50)] were incorporated

10. Effect of aluminum oxide blasting and use of industrial sealant on the outer abutment surface of the prosthetic morse taper system connection on the untightening torque / Efeito do jateamento de óxido de alumínio e uso de selante industrial, na superfície de pilares protéticos Cone Morse, de restaurações implanto suportadas sobre a resistência ao contratorque

11. Resistência adesiva dos cimentos resinosos convencionais e autoadesivos à dentina contaminada por saliva / Bond strength of different composite resin cements and dentin interfaces contaminated with saliva
Many dental injuries require indirect restorations fixed by adhesive cements. In some situations is not possible to isolate the operative field, which can lead to contamination by saliva of the dentin. The aim of this study was to analyze the treatment of dentin contaminated with saliva on shear bond strength of conventional and self-adhesive resin cements.
