1. Evaluation of the sealing ability of different root canal sealers: a combined SEM and micro-CT study
Abstract Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the ability of multiple compounds to seal the dental tubules using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and micro-computed tomogra-phy (micro-CT). Material and Methods: Twenty-four single-root human mandibular premolars were selected and instrumented with nickel-titanium rotary file and the final f

2. Evaluation of the physicochemical properties of silicone- and epoxy resin-based root canal sealers
Abstract To assess the physicochemical properties of AH Plus, GuttaFlow 2, GuttaFlow BioSeal, and MM Seal, five samples of each root canal sealer were evaluated to determine their setting time (ST), dimensional change (DC), solubility (SL), flow (FL), and radiopacity (RD) according to American National Standards Institute/American Dental Association (ANSI/AD

3. Biocompatibility and bioactivity of calcium silicate-based endodontic sealers in human dental pulp cells
Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) is a calcium silicate-based material. New sealers have been developed based on calcium silicate as MTA Fillapex and MTA Plus. Objective The aim of this study was to evaluate biocompatibility and bioactivity of these two calcium silicate-based sealers in culture of human dental pulp cells (hDPCs). Material and Methods The

4. Etidronate from Medicine to Endodontics: effects of different irrigation regimes on root dentin roughness
An increase in dentin roughness, associated with surface composition, contributes to bacterial adherence in recontaminations. Surface roughness is also important for micromechanical interlocking of dental materials to dentin, and understanding the characteristics of the surface is essential to obtain the adhesion of root canal sealers that have different phy

7. Radiopacity evaluation of root canal sealers containing calcium hydroxide and MTA
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the radiopacity of root canal sealers containing calcium hydroxide and MTA (Acroseal, Sealer 26, Sealapex, Endo CPM Sealer, Epiphany and Intrafill). Five disc-shaped specimens (10 x 1 mm) were fabricated from each material, according to the ISO 6876/2001 standard. After setting of the materials, radiographs were take

8. Analysis of inorganic composition and release of formaldehyde after manipulation of endodontic sealers / Analise da composição inorganica e da liberação de formaldeido apos a manipulação de cimentos endonticos
This study evaluated chemical composition (inorganic) and formaldehyde presence in root-canal sealers. Seven root-canal sealers were chosen: four based-zinc-oxide-eugenol (ZOE) (Targer Canal Sealer, Konne; Endo Fill, Dentsply; Endométhasone N, Septodont and; Pulp Canal Sealer, Kerr); two based-mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) (Endo CPM Sealer, EGEO Dental a

Evaluation of periapical inflammation response from coronal leakage in dog´s teeth obturated using different resin-based sealers and different obturation techniques / Avaliação da resposta inflamatória periapical resultante da infiltração coronária em dentes de cães obturados com diferentes cimentos resinosos e técnicas obturadoras
Considering the need for three-dimensional obturations and adequate marginal sealing of the radicular canal system as being decisive factors for successful endodontic therapy, this study had as its objective the evaluation of periapical inflammatory responses resulting from coronary infiltration in dogs teeth obturated using different resin sealers (AH Plus,

11. Effect of low level laser therapy (LILT) on the protein secretion by endodontic sealers stimulated macrophages / "Efeito da terapia com laser em baixa intensidade (LILT) na produção de proteínas por macrófagos estimulados por cimentos endodônticos"
The endodontic therapy seeks the dental root canal biological sealing, depending on substances used in this process and patients defense immune factors. LILT has shown an anti-inflammatory activity, improving the periapical repair process. This in vitro study aimed to analyze the effect of LILT at the secretory activity of macrophages previously activated

12. Histological evaluation of the inflammatory response to endodontic filling materials / Avaliação histológica da resposta inflamatória a cimentos de obturação endodôntica
Dentistry in our days has been working in an incessant manner so that its results be well-known. New techniques, new materials, ultimately, even if the indexes of dental decay still reach a number that characterize risk. Not only the evolution of the disease decay, but also the iatrogenic make it necessary to have endodôntic treatment that consists in the r
