1. Efecto electrocatalítico de nanopartículas bimetálicas de Ag y Cd hacia la reducción de iones nitrato y/o nitrito
ABSTRACT The electrocatalytic effect of Cd-Ag bimetallic nanoparticles supported on highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) and vitreous carbon (VC) substrates was evaluated for the nitrate and/or nitrite ions reduction reaction. For this, in a first stage, the metallic and bimetallic deposits were obtained on the carbonaceous substrates (CS) using the ele

2. Electroremediation of deactivated catalysts from fluidised catalytic cracking for vanadium removal - the effect of a dual cathode chamber reactor
Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the quantity of vanadium removed through electrokinetic remediation applied to catalyst waste used in a fluid catalytic cracking process. In excess, vanadium affects process efficiency by reducing the catalyst’s activity, causing deactivation and reducing its useful life in petroleum cracking during refining.

3. Desenvolvimento de membranas mistas a base de poli(indeno) sulfonado e PVA reticulado com objetivo de aplicação em célula a combustível tipo PEM
The study on alternative membranes for use in fuel cells PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) has been conducted by different research groups worldwide. As the commercial membranes still have high cost and performance limitations in certain operating conditions of fuel cells powered by hydrogen and alcohol. This study aimed to evaluate non-fluorinated membranes pr

4. Desenvolvimento, caracterizacao e aplicacao da matriz FTO/POLI(3-aminofenol) na deteccao de marcador de lesao cardiaca por fotoluminescencia de quantum dots
The heart is a vital organ propelling blood, that carries oxygen and nutrients throughout the body, but whenever these components do not reach it due to arterial obstruction, there is an electrical instability in the process of contraction of the muscle, causing arrhythmias that often, in less than an hour, causes acute myocardial infarction. The problem and

5. Argilominerais puro e quimicamente modificados como adsorventes para corantes catiônicos / Natural and chemically ativated clays as adsorbent for cationic dyes.
The interactions between lamellar silicate with dyes have been widely studied for analytical applications that are intended as and electrochemical adsorption. In this work, sodium vermiculite (Vs) and vermiculites exchanged with copper (V/Cu) and cobalt (V/Co) and through controlled leaching (Vac1 and Vac3) were synthesized. The vermiculite reacted with nitr

6. "Desenvolvimento de eletrodos de troca iônica eletroquímica para o tratamento de rejeitos contendo íons Cromo ou Césio" / DEVELOPMENT OF ELECTROCHEMICAL ION EXCHANGE ELECTRODES FOR THE TREATMENT OF WASTES CONTAINING CHROMIUM OR CESIUM IONS
Nowadays, environmental preservation using technologies that do not attack it, generating non-toxic residues and reduced volumes, has been discussed. Hazardous effluents, containing metals, as chromium, have been poured in the soils and rivers, degrading the water. Not different are the problems originated from some nuclear activities that generate wastes, a

7. Preparation and characterization of mixed modified electrodes used in electrocatalytic hydrogenation of organic substrates / Preparação e caracterização de eletrodos modificados mistos e seu uso em hidrogenação eletrocatalítica de substratos orgânicos
This thesis describes the preparation of new modified electrodes (MEs) using the method of noble metal particles deposition like nickel, palladium and platinum in the surface of commum metals particles as cooper and iron. This new electrodes were denominated mixed MEs, and can show different caractheristics and present higher efficiency than others already s

8. Oxido misto de SiO2/SnO2,SiO2/SnO2/Fosfato : propriedades e aplicações / The SiO2/SnO2, SiO2/SnO2/fosfato mixed oxide : properties and applications
The present work describes the preparation of SiO2/SnO2 mixed oxide obtained by the sol-gel processing method with Sn compositions (in wt %) of 4, 13 and 18%. The high specific surface and the presence of Lewis and Brfnsted acid sites, constitutes an interesting substrate for preparing new classes of chemically modified electrodes. In a specific application,

9. Preparação, caracterização e aplicações do material celulose-oxido de zirconio
This work describes the preparation and characterization of the cellulose (Cel) and cellulose acetate (Acel) fibers and cellulose acetate film (Macel) coated with ZrO2. Furthermore, they were modified by reacting phosphoric acid, resulting in the modified materials: Cel/ZrO2/Phosphate and Acel/ZrO2/Phosphate fibers and Macel/ZrO2/Phosphate films. The zirconi

Methylene Blue (MB) and Nile Blue (NB), a phenothiazine and a phenoxazine dyes respectively, were adsorbed on zirconium (IV) phosphate (ZP) by ion exchange reaction. The dyes were strongly retained and were not leached out from the matrix. The materials with adsorbed dyes (ZPMB e ZPNB) were incorporated into a carbon paste electrode and the electrochemical p
