1. Electronic prescription: frequency and severity of medication errors

2. Toughening of polystyrene using styrene-butadiene rubber (SBRr) waste from the shoe industry
Abstract The vulcanized rubber waste from the shoe industry causes environmental damage when it is incinerated or inappropriately discarded, turning this into a problem of major concern. Therefore, this study had as the main objective the Polystyrene (PS) toughening using different contents of white vulcanized styrene-butadiene rubber (SBRr) waste produced i

3. Batch-Injection Amperometric Determination of Pyrogallol in Biodiesel Using a Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotube Modified Electrode
This work demonstrates the application of batch-injection analysis (BIA) with amperometric detection on a multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) modified electrode for the sensitive determination of the antioxidant pyrogallol in biodiesel. Samples were diluted in electrolyte (0.1 mol L-1 HClO4) before injection using an electronic micropipette on the BIA cell.

4. Determination of Inorganic Contaminants in Electrical and Electronic Equipment after Digestion Using Microwave-Assisted Single Reaction Chamber
A method for digestion of plastics from waste of electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) was developed using the microwave-assisted wet digestion in single reaction chamber (MAWD-SRC). The determination of As, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, Sb and Zn by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrom

5. Recycling and Mechanical Characterization of Polymer Blends Present in Printers
More and more electronic devices are being produced and most of them are disposed of improperly. In addition, as they contain heavy metals and toxic substances in their composition, the environmental impact increases. This work aims to study the recycling of polymers present in e-waste through the mechanical characterization of polymer blends produced with t

6. Articular inflammation induced by an enzymatically-inactive Lys49 phospholipase A2: activation of endogenous phospholipases contributes to the pronociceptive effect
Abstract Background Arthritis is a set of inflammatory conditions that induce aching, stiffness, swelling, pain and may cause functional disability with severe consequences to the patient’s lives. These are multi-mediated pathologies that cannot be effectively protected and/or treated. Therefore, the aim of this study was to establish a new model of acut

7. PERFORMANCE OF DIESEL ENGINE FUELLED WITH FOUR VEGETABLE OILS, PREHEATED AND AT ENGINE WORKING TEMPERATURE
ABSTRACT With the rise of restrictions imposed by law for gases emission, several technologies both for petrodiesel (PD) or diesel engines are been applied, such as the sulfur reduction and the injection electronic command, followed of gases recirculation and/or after-treatment. The utilization of biofuels is considered as an interesting option for pollutant

8. Micro and nanometric wear evaluation of metal discs used on determination of biodiesel fuel lubricity
The contact of diesel fuel with engine subsystems demands a good wear resistance. Lubricity is an important feature for integrity of injection system and the sulphur composites are primarily responsible for lubrication of the injector nozzle. Biodiesel is responsible for partially restoring the lubricity of diesel fuel that presents low levels of sulphur com

9. Prevalence of human immunodeficiency virus/hepatitis C virus co-infection in Brazil and associated factors: a review
The hepatitis C virus and human immunodeficiency virus share the same transmission routes, which makes co-infection an unfavorable condition for the natural history of both viral diseases. In this context, it should be highlighted that the knowledge of the extent of co-infection and associated risk factors is a vital tool for prevention and control over infe

10. Determinação rápida de hidroquinona usando análise por injeção em batelada (BIA) com detecção amperométrica
A fast analytical method for determination of hydroquinone in pharmaceutical formulations employing batch injection analysis (BIA) with amperometric detection using a boron-doped diamond electrode is described. The supporting electrolyte was a 0.1 mol L-1 H2SO4 solution (the single reagent used for analysis). The method showed good repeatability (RSD of 0.45

11. Participation of the NO/cGMP/K+ATP pathway in the antinociception induced by Walker tumor bearing in rats
Implantation of Walker 256 tumor decreases acute systemic inflammation in rats. Inflammatory hyperalgesia is one of the most important events of acute inflammation. The L-arginine/NO/cGMP/K+ATP pathway has been proposed as the mechanism of peripheral antinociception mediated by several drugs and physical exercise. The objective of this study was to investiga

12. Estudo das propriedades elétricas de células eletroquímicas emissoras de luz de derivados de polifluoreno / Electric properties study of polymer light-emitting electrochemical cells based on polyfluorene derivatives
Polymer light emitting electrochemical cells, PLECs, are organic electronic devices that have attracted commercial interest because they operate at low voltage and exhibit high performance without the need of specific electrodes such as indium tin oxide (ITO), calcium and others. This feature provides low cost of fabrication and exible devices. The charge in
