1. Criação e performance musical no contexto dos instrumentos musicais digitais / Music creation and performance in the context of digital musical instruments
This work presents a study about the computer as an instrument for musical performance. Based on this study we developed processes of music creation using the algorithmic representation and the computer code. The two main technical resources we applied in our works were: a sound synthesis method based on the generation of waveforms by non-linear equations; a

3. Termodinâmica de primeiros princípios aplicada a ligas de metais de transição / Thermodynamics of first principles applied to alloys of transition metals

4. ESTUDO DE PRIMEIROS PRINCíPIOS DE DEFEITOS NATIVOS EM MONÓXIDO DE BERÍLIO / FIRST PRINCIPLES STUDY OF NATIVE DEFECTS IN BERYLLIUM MONOXIDE
The present thesis shows a study of native defects (vacancies and antisites) in Beryllium Monoxide (BeO) by means of first principle calculations within Density Functional Theory (DFT). We made use of Local Density Aproximation (LDA) in order to approach correlation and shift term, and ultrasoft pseudopotentials in order to describe the electron-core interac

5. Estudos teóricos dos efeitos de solvente no espectro eletrônico de absorção da molécula óxido mesitil / Theoretical studies of soluent effects in the eletronic absorption spectrum of mesityil oxide molecule

6. Propriedades eletrônicas de nanofios semicondutores / Electronic properties of semiconductor nanowires
We have performed an extensive study on the electronic and structural properties of silicon nanowires (NWs) using parameter free computational simulations (DFT). We show that in Si NWs, surfaces whose atoms are connected to inner ones perpendicularly to the wires axes become electronically inactive at the band edges. However, when these bonds are oriented al

8. Brasileirismos terminológicos: estado de verbos em ação e processo / Brasileirismos terminológicos: estado de verbos em ação e processo
This dissertation, developed within the theoretical principals of Lexical Studies and Terminology, is a syntactic-semantic account of a new category proposed by Faulstich (2004), terminological brazilianisms. We propose an analysis based on grammatical categories from which we chose the verb as our object of study. The data, compiled from the eletronic versi

The use of mineral adition in concrete is a widely studied theme for several researchers that looking for features like: save cement for reducing costs, durability improvement to increase mechanical strenght and use of industrial wastes for reducing environmental pollution. This study intend to analize the microstructure of concretes mixtures with ungrounded

10. Espalhamento Raman de Sistemas a Base de GaN Dopados
In this work we present calculations of eletronic Raman cross-sections of doped GaN based system via charge - density mechanism. The studied structures were -doped superlattices and uniform doped GaN systems. In the case of periodically doped superlattice the eletronic structure was obtained using Density Funcional Theory in the local density approximation.

11. Efeitos de spin em poços quânticos largos / Study of Landé G factor on single and double quantum wells of AlGaAs
In this work we presents the results of our investigations concerning MBE grown AlGaAs/GaAs single and double quantum well samples. We focused on the variation of the Land´e g factor along the structure of the quantum wells, which occur as a consquence of its dependence on the Al content on the alloy AlGaAs. The electronic distribution on the wells and the

12. Incorporação da teoria de matriz densidade no metodo Monte Carlo Quantico aplicado na obtenção de potenciais de ionização de valencia e de caroço / Incorporation of the density matrix theory in the Quantum Monte Carlo method applied in the calculation of valence and core ionization potentials
Quantum Monte Carlo (MCQ) is an stochastic method that makes possible to solve the Schrödinger equation. The two most common approachs are: the variational Monte Carlo (MCV) and diffusion Monte Carlo (MCD). The implementation of MCQ presented close results to the experimental values for a great number of systems. However, it does not represent excited state
