1. Preparation of Two Maleic Acid Sulfonamide Salts and Their Copper(II) Complexes and Antiglaucoma Activity Studies
Two novel proton transfer compounds (HAP)+(SAMAL)- and (HBI)+(SAMAL)-.H2O were obtained from (E)-4-oxo-4-(4-sulfamoylphenylamino)but-2-enoic acid (HSAMAL) and 2-aminopyridine (AP) or 1H-benzimidazole (BI), respectively. Copper(II) complexes of salts and of HSAMAL have also been prepared. They have been characterized by elemental, spectral, thermal analyses,

2. Production and characterization of Streptomyces clavuligerus enzymes related to the biosynthesis of clavulanic acid / Produção e caracterização de enzimas de Streptomyces clavuligerus relacionadas com a síntese do ácido clavulânico

3. Characterization of potato genotypes using molecular markers.
The objective of this work was to characterize 27 potato genotypes, using molecular markers. Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, RAPD techniques and isozymes of esterase, phosphoglucomutase and soluble proteins were analyzed in tubers, and isocitrate dehydrogenase, aspartate transaminase, phosphoglucomutase and peroxidase, in leaves. Eighteen primers were te

4. Hybridization among brazilian oat (Avena satia L.) cultivars and the wild oat a. sterilis L.
Hybrids among Avena sativa (L.) Brazilian cultivars and A. sterilis L. accessions were abtained without in vitro embryo culture. Parental samples and their hybrids were investigated by morphological characters of spikelets, meiotic chromosome behaviour and esterase isoenzymes anlaysis. The F hybrids were intermediate to the parental lines for the morphologic

5. Genetic and biological variability of Meloidogyne exigua and pathogenicity of Meloidogyne spp. on coffee genotypes / âVariabilidade genÃtica e biolÃgica de Meloidogyne exigua e patogenicidade de Meloidogyne spp. em genÃtipos de cafeeiroâ

6. Functional classification of esterases from leaves of Aspidosperma polyneuron M. Arg. (Apocynaceae)
Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis system (PAGE) and inhibition tests for biochemical characterization of alpha- and beta-esterases were used to obtain a functional classification of esterases fromAspidosperma polyneuron. The characterization of alpha- and beta-esterases from young leaves of A. polyneuron by the PAGE system showed fourteen esterase isozymes.

7. Esterase-3 polymorphism in the sugarcane borer Diatraea saccharalis (Lepidoptera, Pyralidae)
The migration rate of esterases and their substrate specificity for 4-methylumbelliferyl esters (acetate, propionate, and butyrate) and alpha- and beta-naphthyl esters were analyzed in Diatraea saccharalis by starch gel electrophoresis. Substrate preference of esterases was observed with Est-2 and Est-8 isozymes showing substrate specificity for 4-methylumbe

8. Variability among inbred lines and RFLP mapping of sunflower isozymes
Eight isozyme systems were used in this study: acid phosphatase (ACP), alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH), esterase (EST), glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH), malate dehydrogenase (MDH), phosphoglucoisomerase (PGI), 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (PGD), and phosphoglucomutase (PGM). The polymorphism of these enzyme systems was studied in 25 elite inbred lines. A total

9. Caracterização da diversidade genetica em plantas citricas, palmeiras e brassicas atraves de isoenzimas e RAPD
Genetic diversity was studied by means of polymorphism using polyacrilamide gel electrophoresis a DNA polymorphism assay based on the amplification of random DNA segments denominated RAPD, for citrus, palm and cabbage plants. The following citrus species were analyzed: sweet orange (C.sinensis), Hamlin, Natal, Valencia, Pera and Baianinha; clementine, sunki,
