1. Design, synthesis, biological evaluation, and nitric-oxide release studies of a novel series of celecoxib prodrugs possessing a nitric-oxide donor moiety
A new group of hybrid nitric oxide-releasing anti-inflammatory drugs (NONO-coxibs), in which an O 2-acetoxymethyl-1-(N-ethyl-N-methylamino)diazen-1-ium-1,2-diolate NO-donor moiety is attached directly to the carboxylic acid group of 1-(4-aminosulfonylphenyl)-5-aryl-1H-pyrazol-3-carboxylic acids (6a-c), were synthesized. A low amount of NO was released from t

2. The addition of the thermophilic esterase EST2 influences the fatty acids and volatile compound profiles of semi hard cheeses
Abstract During cheese ripening the hydrolytic activities of proteases and lipases are essential to develop typical flavours; usually these activities come from lactic bacteria. A way to increase cheese flavour and/or to reduce the time of ripening is the addition of exogenous enzymes during cheese making. Actually some commercial lipases are used in cheese

4. Acetaminophen Prodrug: Microwave-Assisted Synthesis and in vitro Metabolism Evaluation by Mass Spectrometry
Propacetamol is an acetaminophen prodrug of intravenous administration used to control fever and pain of perioperative period in multimodal analgesia therapy. After injection, it is completely converted by plasma esterases into N,N-diethylglycine and acetaminophen, its active metabolite whose mechanism of action is the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.

5. Detection of carboxylesterase and esterase activity in culturable gut bacterial flora isolated from diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella (Linnaeus), from India and its possible role in indoxacarb degradation
Abstract Diamondback moth (DBM), Plutella xylostella (Linnaeus), is a notorious pest of brassica crops worldwide and is resistant to all groups of insecticides. The insect system harbors diverse groups of microbiota, which in turn helps in enzymatic degradation of xenobiotic-like insecticides. The present study aimed to determine the diversity of gut microfl

7. Effects of piperonyl butoxide on the toxicity of the organophosphate temephos and the role of esterases in the insecticide resistance of Aedes aegypti
IntroductionThe effects of piperonyl butoxide (PBO) on the toxicity of the organophosphate temephos (TE) and the role of esterases in the resistance of Aedes aegypti to this insecticide were evaluated.MethodsA. aegypti L4 larvae susceptible and resistant to TE were pre-treated with PBO solutions in acetone at concentrations of 0.125, 0.25, 0.5, 1, and 2% for

9. Endophytic fungi producing of esterases: evaluation in vitro of the enzymatic activity using pH indicator
A sensitive and efficient colorimetric method was optimized for detection of esterase enzymes produced by endophytic fungi for development of High-Throughput Screening (HTS). The fungi were isolated and obtained previously from plant species of Cerrado and Atlantic Forest located in areas of environmental preservation in the State of Sao Paulo / Brazil, as p

10. Analysing deltamethrin susceptibility and pyrethroid esterase activity variations in sylvatic and domestic Triatoma infestans at the embryonic stage
The aim of the present work was to study the deltamethrin susceptibility of eggs from Triatoma infestans populations and the contribution of pyrethroid esterases to deltamethrin degradation. Insects were collected from sylvatic areas, including Veinte de Octubre and Kirus-Mayu (Bolivia) and from domiciliary areas, including El Palmar (Bolivia) and La Pista (

Meloidoginoses da cultura do tabaco: identificação de espécies, caracterização de isolados e reação de genótipos de Nicotiana spp. a Meloidogyne enterolobii / Meloidogyne diseases in tobacco crops: identification of species, characterization of isolates and evaluation of Nicotiana spp. accessions for resistance to Meloidogyne enterolobii
