1. Evaluation of ultrasound-guided bilateral low thoracic erector spinae plane block for postoperative analgesia in cesarean delivery patients: a prospective, randomized, controlled clinical trial
Abstract Background: Erector spinae plane block (ESPB) is a recently described block. In many reports, ESPB has been reported to provide effective postoperative analgesia in patients undergoing cesarean delivery (CD). Herein, we compared the effectiveness of ESPB and control group in postoperative analgesia in patients undergoing CD under spinal anesthesia.

2. Spontaneous outer retinal layer recovery in a case of hypertensive choroidopathy secondary to pre-eclampsia: a multimodal evaluation

3. Multimodal quantitative magnetic resonance imaging analysis with individualized postprocessing in patients with drug-resistant focal epilepsy and conventional visual inspection negative for epileptogenic lesions
OBJECTIVES: Approximately one-third of candidates for epilepsy surgery have no visible abnormalities on conventional magnetic resonance imaging. This is extremely discouraging, as these patients have a less favorable prognosis. We aimed to evaluate the utility of quantitative magnetic resonance imaging in patients with drug-resistant neocortical focal epile

4. An Efficient Human Identification through MultiModal Biometric System
ABSTRACT Human identification is essential for proper functioning of society. Human identification through multimodal biometrics is becoming an emerging trend, and one of the reasons is to improve recognition accuracy. Unimodal biometric systems are affected by various problemssuch as noisy sensor data,non-universality, lack of individuality, lack of invaria

5. MODELING PARTICLE SIZE DISTRIBUTION IN HETEROGENEOUS POLYMERIZATION SYSTEMS USING MULTIMODAL LOGNORMAL FUNCTION
Abstract This work evaluates the usage of the multimodal lognormal function to describe Particle Size Distributions (PSD) of emulsion and suspension polymerization processes, including continuous reactions with particle re-nucleation leading to complex multimodal PSDs. A global optimization algorithm, namely Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), was used for pa

6. Acetaminophen Prodrug: Microwave-Assisted Synthesis and in vitro Metabolism Evaluation by Mass Spectrometry
Propacetamol is an acetaminophen prodrug of intravenous administration used to control fever and pain of perioperative period in multimodal analgesia therapy. After injection, it is completely converted by plasma esterases into N,N-diethylglycine and acetaminophen, its active metabolite whose mechanism of action is the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.

7. Cortical morphology changes in women with borderline personality disorder: a multimodal approach
Objective: Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is a devastating condition that causes intense disruption of patients' lives and relationships. Proper understanding of BPD neurobiology could help provide the basis for earlier and effective interventions. As neuroimaging studies of patients with BPD are still scarce, volumetric and geometric features of the

8. A spheroid-based 3-D culture model for pancreatic cancer drug testing, using the acid phosphatase assay
Current therapy for pancreatic cancer is multimodal, involving surgery and chemotherapy. However, development of pancreatic cancer therapies requires a thorough evaluation of drug efficacy in vitro before animal testing and subsequent clinical trials. Compared to two-dimensional culture of cell monolayer, three-dimensional (3-D) models more closely mimic nat

9. TEXTUAL READABILITY IN BRAZILIAN WORKBOOKS FOR ADULT EDUCATION (EJA): READING PROCESSING ISSUES / LEGIBILIDADE TEXTUAL NOS CADERNOS DIDÁTICOS DE EJA: QUESTÕES DE PROCESSAMENTO DA LEITURA
This research aims to investigate the processing of reading, making some considerations about the comprehension and the construction of senses to the text. The new theoretical approaches about the processing of reading are presented focusing on readers¿ abilities and difficulties presented by texts themselves, including multimodal ones. The results of the m

10. Observation versus mothers and teachers reports about social competence and problematic behaviors in preschooler / Observação versus relato de mães e professoras sobre competência social e comportamentos problemáticos em pré-escolares
The literature has produced evidence that: (a) the early assessment and intervention in social skills can prevent and overcome problematic behaviors; (b) in the case of assessment, there are limits and advantages to different procedures generally used as well as a consensus about the importance of the multimodal design; (c) studies that investigate the relat

11. THE PORTUGUESE LANGUAGE TEACHING TEXTBOOKS UNDER THE DESIGN POINT OF VIEW / OLHARES DO DESIGN SOBRE O LIVRO DIDÁTICO DE LÍNGUA PORTUGUESA
This research proposes an analysis of Portuguese textbooks included in the Guia do Livro Didático distributed by the MEC for schools. The main purpose of this analysis is to enable discussions about (a) the current mechanisms for evaluating this kind of book, (b) the use of the image in textbooks, (c) the inclusion of other genres in their content and, esse

12. Proposição, avaliação numérica e experimental de um absorvedor dinâmico de vibrações multimodal / Proposal, Numerical and Experimental Evaluation of a Multimodal Vibration Dynamic Absorber
Dynamic Vibration Absorbers (DVA) have been widely used for passive control of structural vibrations. In their simplest configurations, those devices have their mitigation capacity confined to narrow frequency bands, which limits, to a large extent, their practical effectiveness. In this work, it is proposed a methodology for the optimal design of a multimod
