1. MODIFIED STOPPA APPROACH FOR PELVIC AND ACETABULAR FRACTURE TREATMENT

2. Pathological fracture after radiotherapy: systematic review of literature

3. Evaluation of Fracture Toughness of Ultraviolet-Irradiated Polycarbonate Using the Essential Work of Fracture Method
The essential work of fracture (EWF) method provides useful parameters to characterize the fracture toughness of polymers exposed to degrading environments under conditions associated with plane-stress state of failure. Exposure of polymeric engineering materials to ultraviolet (UV) radiation may produce macromolecular changes that impair their fracture toug

4. Osteoradionecrosis of the jaws: case series treated with adjuvant low-level laser therapy and antimicrobial photodynamic therapy
Abstract Background: Osteoradionecrosis of the jaw (ORNJ) is the most severe and complex sequel of head and neck radiotherapy (RT) because of the bone involved, it may cause pain, paresthesia, foul odor, fistulae with suppuration, need for extra oral communication and pathological fracture. We treated twenty lesions of ORNJ using low-level laser therapy (LL

5. Electrochemical Noise for Detection of Stress Corrosion Cracking of Low Carbon Steel Exposed to Synthetic Soil Solution
In the last years, electrochemical noise (EN) has demonstrate that is capable of detect the initiation of cracks during the slow strain rate tests (SSRT). In this research, EN has been used as a tool to detect stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in low carbon steel (X52) exposed to a synthetic soil solution called NS4 at room temperature with pH of 5, 8 and 10.

6. Growth rates of dynamic dermal model exposed to laminar flow and magnetic fields
Abstract Introduction Ongoing research in the use of electromagnetic stimulation as coadjuvant in fracture healing has led the authors to begin generating computer models in order to predict cellular growth changes when cells are electromagnetically stimulated. By generating these models, scientists will be able to better understand how electromagnetic fiel

7. Effect of high energy X-ray irradiation on the nano-mechanical properties of human enamel and dentine
Abstract Radiotherapy for malignancies in the head and neck can cause common complications that can result in tooth damage that are also known as radiation caries. The aim of this study was to examine damage to the surface topography and calculate changes in friction behavior and the nano-mechanical properties (elastic modulus, nanohardness and friction coef

8. Thermal and mechanical properties of commercial MgO-C bricks
abstractMgO-C (magnesia-carbon) refractories are widely used in several steelmaking linings. These refractories are exposed to extreme stress due to high temperatures (T > 1600 °C) required to cause the metallurgical reactions. These working conditions produced refractory wear through various related processes. The different types of degradation that the ma

9. Mechanical analysis of femoral neck fracture fixation with dynamic condylar screw in synthetic bone
Objective: To analyze statistically results in biomechanical testing of fixation of femoral neck Pauwels type III fractures, on synthetic bone, with dynamic condylar screw (DCS) and control group. Methods: Ten synthetic bones of a national brand were used. Test Group: fixation was performed after osteotomy at 70o tilt using DCS plate with four holes. W

10. Isolation of Staphylococcus epidermidis from inflamed upper respiratory tract of an orange-spined hairy dwarf porcupine (Sphiggurus villosus)
The orange-spined hairy dwarf porcupine (Sphiggurus villosus) is a rodent species common in most parts of South America, and little is known about the pathologies that can afflict it. A specimen was delivered at the Wildlife Research and Medical Center (CEMPAS), School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry, UNESP, Botucatu, SP, Brazil. The animal showe

11. Efeitos do Ãcido zoledrÃnico na consolidaÃÃo de fraturas da diÃfise femoral de ratos / Effects of zoledronic acid on fracture healing of femoral diaphysis of rats.
Femoral fractures are considered a public health problem and account for a high rate of morbidity and mortality by the occurrence of complications. They occur not only in young patients exposed to major trauma but in the elderly population as well. Most elderly patients have certain conditions, eg, osteoporosis, which further increase the risk of such fractu

12. Otimização do corte de pontas de um aço livre de intersticiais laminado a quente usando tesoura do tipo guilhotina / Optimization the cut edge of a hot rolled interstitial free steel using a guillotine type shearing machine
The automotive industry\ s demand for high formability steels for use in exposed body panels motivated the development of several interstitial free (IF) steels specifications at Companhia Siderurgica Nacional. The \"IF-Ti\" steel specification belongs to the special deep drawing steels group (CSN EEP-IF), with yield strength <380 MPa, and among all grades of
