1. Quantification of bergenin, antioxidant activity and nitric oxide inhibition from bark, leaf and twig of Endopleura uchi
Phytochemical investigation of Endopleura uchi led to the isolation of a gallic acid derivate, known as bergenin (2) and friedelin (1), a pentacyclic triterpene. The present work also reports the bergenin quantification in different Endopleura uchi bark, twig and leaves extracts. Our findings showed the highest bergenin concentration in bark methanol extract

3. Fatty acid composition of vegetable oil blend and in vitro effects of pharmacotherapeutical skin care applications
Vegetable oils have been used for a plethora of health benefits by their incorporation in foods, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical products, especially those intended for skin care. This study aimed to investigate the cutaneous benefits of a vegetable oil blend (VOB) formulation and its fatty acid composition. The anti-inflammatory activity was studied in macrop

4. Favorability potential for IOCG type deposits in the Riacho do Pontal Belt: new insights for identifying prospects of IOCG-type deposits in NE Brazil
ABSTRACT: Archean iron oxide-copper-gold (IOCG) deposits have been systematically described in the world class Carajás IOCG district, Amazonian region of Brazil. More recently, several Neoproterozoic (ca 1.13 to 0.96 Ga) IOCG deposits have been identified in the Riacho do Pontal mobile belt situated in the Borborema Province on the northern border of the S

The objective of the research was determine chemical and energetic composition of the cottonseed meal and evaluate its inclusion on performance of poultry. The chemical, energetic and aminoacidic composition was determined using the total excreta collection method, twice a day. It was used ferric oxide to mark the beginning and the end of the collection. The

7. SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF NANOSTRUCTURED IRON-NICKEL ALLOYS / SÍNTESE E CARACTERIZAÇÃO DE LIGAS FE-NI NANOESTRUTURADAS
Nickel oxide and hematite nanostructured were successfully prepared by thermal decomposition from nickel nitrate hexahydrate and ferric nitrate nonahydrate in the temperature range of 350-450°C with variation of the time. The average crystallite sizes of NiO and Fe2O3 were estimated from X-ray diffraction (XRD) peaks using the PowderCell and Topas software.

8. MECANISMOS DE NITROSILAÇÃO DE FERRO PORFIRINAS POR SNAP: CINÉTICA DE REAÇÃO E ESTABILIDADE EM AMBIENTE AERÓBICO / MECHANISMS OF NITROSYLATION OF IRON PORPHYRINS BY SNPA: KINETICS OF THE REACTION AND STABILITY UNDER AEROBIC ENVIRONMENT
Serveal metalic complexes have been identified as tergets for the binding of nitric oxide. In order that these complexes can be efficiently and safely used in medical applications, it is important to understand their kinetic and structural properties in realistic models. In this work, the optical absorption and electron paramagnetic resonance techniques were

9. Degradação da resistência à corrosão de aços inoxidáveis duplex, devido ao envelhecimento em baixas temperaturas por tempos prolongados. / Degradation of the corrosion resistance of duplex stainless steel due to long aging at low temperatures.
Although duplex stainless steels exhibit good performance in many severe corrosive environments, their corrosion resistance can be hampered by precipitation of chromium (Cr) rich phases during aging heat treatments. Microstructural changes and corrosion behavior in two alloys with high and low content of chromium were investigated. Duplex stainless steels sa

10. Influence of low crude protein diets in nitrogen balance and tissue retention of growing swine / Efeito de nÃveis de proteÃna da raÃÃo no balanÃo de nitrogÃnio e composiÃÃo corporal de suÃnos em crescimento
Three experiments were conducted in the DZO/UFLA to evaluate the effects of crude protein content in nitrogen balance, body composition and blood and urinary metabolites of swine. In the first experiment, 12 crossbred barrows, housed individualy in stell metabolic cages were used. The animals were allotted to four treatments consisting of isocaloric and isol

11. EFFECT OF OXIDIZING ELECTRODES AND POLARITY ON HYDROGEN MITIGATION IN UNDERWATER WET WELDING
Weld metal hydrogen pickup in underwater wet welding is unavoidable due to the presence and dissociation of water vapor surrounding the welding arc. In conjunction with the fast quenching nature of the water environment, the high hydrogen content in the weldment leads to hydrogen cracking in the heat-affected zone. This undesirable occurrence has been succes

12. Reduction of ferric iron by L-lactate and DL-glycerol-3-phosphate in membrane preparations from Staphylococcus aureus and interactions with the nitrate reductase system.
Membrane fractions with L-lactate dehydrogenase, sn-glycerol-3-phosphate (G3P) dehydrogenase, and nitrate reductase activities were prepared from Staphylococcus aureus wild-type and hem mutant strains. These preparations reduced ferric to ferrous iron with L-lactate or G3P as the source of reductant, using ferrozine to trap the ferrous iron. Reduction of fer
