1. An Analytical Solution for Fiber Optic Links with Photonic-Assisted Millimeter Wave Upconversion Due to MZM Nonlinearities
Abstract Photonic-assisted technique employed in the generation of stable and high-purity signals in the millimeter wave band has been investigated using dual-parallel Mach-Zehnder modulator. Indeed, this type of generation performs a high order RF multiplier, whose operation principle steams out from the nonlinear characteristic of the external modulators.

2. Classification of Flying Insects with high performance using improved DTW algorithm based on hidden Markov model
ABSTRACT Insects play significant role in the human life. And insects pollinate major food crops consumed in the world. Insect pests consume and destroy major crops in the world. Hence to have control over the disease and pests, researches are going on in the area of entomology using chemical, biological and mechanical approaches. The data relevant to the fl

3. Estratégia Híbrida para recomendação personalizada utilizando o Guia de Programação Eletrônico. / Hybrid Strategy for personalized recommendation using the Electronic Program Guide.
The wide range of digital information has become more difficult to find things that best fit the profile of those who demand something. In this context, Recommender Systems represent a solution to the above problem, since they help the user to find relevant information, operating based on information personalization, since it helps certain individuals in the

4. Novas propostas em filtragem de projeções tomográficas sob ruído Poisson
In this dissertation we present techniques for filtering of tomographic projections with Poisson noise. For the filtering of the tomogram projections we use variations of three filtering techniques: Bayesian estimation, Wiener filtering and thresholding in Wavelet domain. We used ten MAP estimators, each estimator with a diferent probability density as prior

5. Detecção do complexo QRS em sinais cardiacos utilizando FPGA / QRS complex detection in cardiac signals using FPGA
The electrocardiogram (ECG) is a tool used for diagnosis of diseases related to the heart. This work has the purpose of detecting QRS complex, focusing on the R wave, which represents the ventriclescontraction. It is presented two techniques of processing ECG signals. The first uses Pan &Tompkins algorithm based on digital filtering. The second uses the di

6. Medição de impedância utilizando sistemas digitais
Conducting measurements is, in the most part of practical situations, essential for scientific research. It is so important, that it can be said, that all areas in engineering are dependent of it. As well known, impedance measurement is a subject of great interest in many application fields, each of which has different demands in terms of accuracy, range, me

7. Uma proposta de ferramenta para controle de qualidade em linha de produÃÃo e montagem de cÃmbios automotivos utilizando filtragem adaptativa / A proposal of tool for automotive gearbox quality control in production and assembly line using adaptive filtering
Normally, automotive gearbox quality control in assembly line is made in subjective manner by specialists. The human ear, despite being a highly sensitive tool and widely used in quality control is also sensitive to emotional and environmental problems (back noises), besides not giving measurable values. In order to solve this problem, the traditional techni

8. Frequency estimation in power system through adaptive filtering / Estimação da freqüência em sistemas elétricos de potência através de filtragem adaptativa
This work presents a method for frequency estimation in power systems using adaptive filters based in the algorithm of least mean square (LMS). The analysis of the power system is made through the conversion of the three-phase voltages in a complex signal with the application of alfabetatransform, whose complex form was directed to the algorithm of adaptive

9. STRUCTURES AND ADAPTIVE ALGORITHMS FOR BLIND DETECTION OF DS-CDMA SIGNALS / ESTRUTURAS E ALGORITMOS ADAPTATIVOS PARA DETECÇÃO ÀS CEGAS DE SINAIS DS-CDMA

10. Use of Adaptive Filtering for Fault Detection on Ball Bearings / Utilização de filtros adaptativos para detecção de falhas em mancais de rolamentos
The analysis of vibrations constitutes one of the powerful tools destined for predictive maintenance. In this context, and with the objective of contributing to the improvement of the process of detection and diagnosis of ball bearing faults, the use of the technique of adaptive filtering applied to vibration signals is focused in this work, through the mini

11. STUDY AND DEVELOPMENT DE UMA FAMILY OF Not LINEAR ALGORITHMS FOR FILTERING ADAPTATIVE / ESTUDO E DESENVOLVIMENTO DE UMA FAMILIA DE ALGORITMOS NÃO LINEARES PARA FILTRAGEM ADAPTATIVA
In this work we develop a family of adaptive algorithms based on nonlinear functions as a criterion to be applied upon the error, that we want to minimize. Such a development is based upon the use of high order statistics to obtain additional information of the signals involved in the process, intending to enhance the adaptive filtering performance. We deriv

12. Modelos de prediÃÃo linear para anÃlise de sinais eletroencefalogrÃficos (EEG) e de matrizes multieletrodo (MEA) / Linear-prediction models for electroencephalographic (EEG) and multielectrode-array (MEA) signal analysis
This work establishes models of neurophysiological signals, which are composed of spontaneous activity measurements taken by means of multielectrode arrays (MEAs) applied on in vitro cell cultures; as well as of neurological signals based on electroencephalography. These models suppose that MEAs are employed as neuroprostheses applied for detection and forec
