With chronic endothelial injury, the accumulation of thromboxane A2, serotonin, and other mediators may contribute to platelet aggreg

7. Localization of the N terminus of hepatitis B virus capsid protein by peptide-based difference mapping from cryoelectron microscopy
Recently, cryoelectron microscopy of isolated macromolecular complexes has advanced to resolutions below 10 Å, enabling direct visualization of α-helical secondary structure. To help correlate such density maps with the amino acid sequences of the component proteins, we advocate peptide-based difference mapping, i.e., insertion of peptides, ≈10 residues

8. Transcription in vivo directed by consensus sequences of E.coli promoters: their context heavily affects efficiencies and start sites.
We studied in vivo transcription and gene expression directed by a series of synthetic sequences, bearing the consensus hexamer (CH) pair of E.coli promoters in various contexts. The results demonstrate that, for the contexts tested, the CH pair supports transcription activity and gene expression, whether the spacer linking them is AT or GC rich, or is as sh
