1. Categorization of the main descriptors of different ampicillin crystal habits

3. Detect of scratches in spherical lenses, for light reflected under Fourier descriptors / Detecção de riscos em lentes esféricas, por luz refletida, através de descritores de Fourier
This work presents a methodology for inspection of spherical organic ophthalmic lenses during the polishing process. The methodology encompasses the capture of an ultraviolet image of the lens under inspection by a CCD video camera and associated processing of the image to discriminate between scratches on the lens and artifacts that can appear on the image.

4. Effect of the sexed semen process through flow cytometry and cryopreservation on the morphometry of spermatozoid heads and chromatin stability / Efeito do processo de sexagem de sêmen por citometria de fluxo e crioprervação sobre a morfometria da cabeça de espermatozóides e estabilidade de cromatina
Bovine sexed semen has been commercially evaluated due to its great economic value for sex selection in milk and beef cattle raising, with purity around 90% for the desired sex. However, its employment depends on the cryopreservation use. The objective of the present study was to analyze the spermatic chromatin stability and morphometric alterations in sperm

5. Análise multivariada da forma do otólito sagita para discriminação de estoques de dourado, Coryphaena hippurus (Pisces : Coryphaenidae), no Nordeste do Brasil / Multivariate analysis of otolith shape for stock discrimiantion of dolphinfish,Coryphaena hippurus (Pisces :Coryphaenidae), in the Northeastern Brazilian coast
The otolith shape of dolphinfish, C. Hippurus, was studied to verify the hypotheses of two stocks in the northeastern Brazilian coast. Eighty two sagittal otoliths were collected from specimens caught by the artisanal fleet in two regions of northestern Brazil (Maranhão MA and Rio Grande do Norte RN coasts), in December of 2003 and April to May of 2004, res

6. Representação de objetos atraves de descritores do contorno e classificação por funções discriminantes lineares por partes
This work presents a study of shape descriptors applied to objects classification and identification, including the Fourier descriptors, eliptic Fourier descriptors and the necessary normalizations to achieve translation, rotation, scale, reflection and starting point invariances. It is also proposed a fast and automatic algorithm to determine piecewise line

7. HANDWRITING RECOGNITION / RECONHECIMENTO DE CARACTERES MANUSCRITOS
This work introduces an image processing methodology that, associated with a multi-level neural network of perceptrons, is able to isolate and recognize cursive handwritten characters. The character isolation technique makes use of fundamental geometric and topological aspectos of the characters. The work describe procedures to extract the characters skeleto

8. Shape recognition and inferior temporal neurons.
Inferior temporal cortex plays an important role in shape recognition. To study the shape selectivity of single inferior temporal neurons, we recorded their responses to a set of shapes systematically varying in boundary curvature. Many inferior temporal neurons were selective for stimuli of specific boundary curvature and maintained this selectivity over ch

9. The fundamental motor of the human neutrophil is not random: evidence for local non-Markov movement in neutrophils.
The search for a fundamental mechano-chemical process that results in net cell motion has led investigators to fit neutrophil tracking data to well described physical models in hopes of understanding the functional form of the driving force. The Ornstein-Uhlenbeck (OU) equation for mean square displacement describes a locally persistent and globally random p
