1. Lattice QCD: a nonperturbative study in the Feynman Gauge / QCD na rede: um estudo não-perturbativo no calibre de Feynman
The infrared behavior of gluon and ghost propagators is of fundamental importance for the understanding of the low-energy limit of quantum chromodynamics (QCD), especially with respect to the problem of the confinement of quarks and gluons. The goal of this thesis is to implement a new method to study the gluon propagator in the linear covariant gauge in lat

2. Non-relativistic propagators via Schwinger's method
In order to popularize the so called Schwinger's method we reconsider the Feynman propagator of two non-relativistic systems: a charged particle in a uniform magnetic field and a charged harmonic oscillator in a uniform magnetic field. Instead of solving the Heisenberg equations for the position and the canonical momentum operators, R and P, we apply this me

3. Correlation of the ghost and the quark in the lattice landau gauge QCD
Effects of the quark field on the ghost propagator of the lattice Landau gauge are investigated by using the unquenched SU(3) configurations produced by the MILC collaboration and compared with quenched gauge configurations of SU(2) first copy of the overrelaxation gauge fixing, the parallel tempering (PT) gauge fixing and quenched SU(3) 56(4) configurations

4. Higher derivative quantum gravity near four dimensions
We investigate the role of the Gauss-Bonnet term for the n = 4 and n = 4-e renormalization group, for both conformal and general versions of the theory. The cancellation of the quantum effects of the Gauss-Bonnet term in the n = 4 limit represents an efficient test for the correctness of previous calculations and also resolves two long-standing problems conc

5. Remarks on gauge fixing and BRST quantization of noncommutative gauge theories
We consider the BRST gauge fixing procedure of the noncommutative Yang-Mills theory and of the gauged U(N) Proca model. An extended Seiberg-Witten map involving ghosts, antighosts and auxiliary fields for non-Abelian gauge theories is studied. We find that the extended map behaves differently for these models. For the Yang-Mills theory in the Lorentz gauge i
