1. Evaluation of polyelectrolyte and emulsion covalent crosslink of chitosan for producing mesalasine loaded submicron particles
This study evaluates various techniques for producing mesalamine (5ASA)-loaded particles employing chitosan as a biopolymer: (1) the polyelectrolyte complexation of chitosan with phthalate hypromelose (HP), (2) the chemical crosslinking of chitosan with genipin and (3) the water-in-oil emulsion method associated with chemical crosslinking with genipin. Syste

2. Identification and quantification of genipin and geniposide from Genipa americana L. by HPLC-DAD using a fused-core column
Abstract In this work, it was developed a fast, simple and selective method for quantification of genipin and geniposide from unripe fruits of genipap, which are known as natural colorants, blue and yellow, respectively. The compounds separation was performed in a fused-core C18 column using as mobile phase water (A) and acetonitrile (B) both acidified with

3. Composite PHB/chitosan microparticles obtained by spray drying: effect of chitosan concentration and crosslinking agents on drug relesase

4. Interactions of chitosan/genipin hydrogels during drug delivery: a QSPR approach
A hydrogel comprised of chitosan crosslinked using the low-toxicity crosslinker genipin was prepared, and the absorption of glibenclamide by the hydrogel was investigated. Optimized structures and their molecular electrostatic potentials were calculated using the AM1 method, and the results were used to evaluate the molecular interactions between the three c

5. Imobilização da tanase de Paecilomyces variotii e ação em reações de hidrólise e síntese / Immobilization of tannase from Pecilomyces variotii and reactions of hydrolysis and synthesis
Tannin acyl hydrolase (TAH) known as tannase (EC 3.1.1.20) is an enzyme that hydrolyzes esters of hydrolysable tannins producing gallic acid and glucose as the reaction medium is polar. However, the literature indicates their ability to produce also gallic acid esters in organic media. Our research group has isolated a fungus, Paecilomyces variotii, tannase

6. Estudo do efeito da reticulação por genipin em suportes biocompatíveis de quitosana-PVA
The human integument, known as skin, is made up of distinct layers, joined to each other. Its main functions are to protect the underlying tissues, regulate body temperature, and uphold somatic nerve endings. This human organ is subject to several types of effort and injuries caused by physical and chemical agents. By its importance, the skin has been the su

7. Spheres of gum of the cajueiro and quitosana for release of fÃrmacos / Esferas de goma do cajueiro e quitosana para liberaÃÃo de fÃrmacos
Cashew gum based beads were produced through interpenetrating polymer networks and polyelectrolyte complexation techniques. Beads of chitosan (CH) and cashew gum (CG)/CH were further crosslinked with genipin obtained from âgenipapoâ fruits. This crosslinking agent was characterized by proton and carbon nuclear magnetic resonance and infrared spectroscopy.
