2. Citrus pulp-based supplement reduces the detrimental effects of high grazing pressure on the performance of beef cattle under a rotational system of Urochloa brizantha

3. Methodology to estimate the cost of delayed pregnancy for dairy cows. An example for Argentina
The objectives of the present study were to develop a methodology that implies the use of an electronic spreadsheet to calculate the financial losses of involuntary days open (IDO; every additional day open beyond an optimal calving-to-conception interval) and to show an example of the cost of days open using the proposed methodology. The costs accounted for

4. Grazing patterns on signalgrass pasture according to location of cattle feces
This study was conducted to evaluate the defoliation patterns on B. decumbens cv. Basilisk (signalgrass) tiller as a function of influence of feces deposited naturally by cattle. The signalgrass was managed with an average height of 25 cm, under continuous stocking and variable stocking rate. Interval and intensity of defoliation, grazing efficiency and fora

5. IPR 126 white oat forage potential under free growth, cutting and grazing at two management heights
The experiment was carried out to evaluate the structural characteristics, biomass accumulation, chemical composition and in vitro digestibility of dry matter and crude protein of white oat (Avena sativa L. IPR 126) under different management systems. Grazing, cut at two heights (15 and 20 cm) and free growth were all evaluated in three periods (July, August

6. Morphogenetic and tillering dynamics in Tanzania grass fertilized and non-fertilized with nitrogen according to season
The objectives of this study were to evaluate morphogenetic characteristics and tillering dynamics in Tanzania grass fertilized and non-fertilized with nitrogen, under intermittent grazing, in the spring and the summer. The main plots were composed of four nitrogen rates (0, 100, 200 and 300 kg/ha) and the subplots were growth seasons: spring (October, Novem

7. Morfogênese, acúmulo de forragem e teores de nutrientes de Panicum maximum cv. Tanzânia submetido a diferentes severidades de desfolhação e fertilidades contrastantes / Morphogenesis, forage net accumulation and nutritional status of Panicum maximum cv Tanzânia under contrasting fertilization rates and grazing intensities
Nitrogen is the most important nutrient regulating pasture production. Response to N fertilization depends on residual leaf area index and other nutrient availability. The aim of this study was to evaluate morphogenetic and structural characteristics, grazing interval, forage yield and nutritional status of Tanzania guinea grass under contrasting defoliation

8. Performance of Lotus corniculatus L. genotypes submitted to cutting interval: subsidies to a breeding program
The objective of this work was to evaluate the response of five birdsfoot trefoil populations (Lotus corniculatus L.), selected under severe and intense grazing (P38, P37, P9 and P3) or cutting (population Corte), one rhizomatous population from Morocco and two cultivars, São Gabriel (Brazil) and ARS 2620 (USA), to different cutting intervals (20 and 40 day

9. Morphogenesis of dwarf elephant grass clones in response to intensity and frequency of defoliation in dry and rainy seasons
The aim of this study was to evaluate during the dry and rainy seasons the morphogenesis traits of two clones of dwarf elephant grass under different management strategies. The study was conducted in a factorial 2 × 2 × 3 design, using two clones, one green and one purple, two residual heights, 25 and 45 cm, and three frequencies of defoliation according t

The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of grazing interval and period of evaluation over tissue turnover in Tanzania grass pastures (Panicum maximum cv. Tanzania) and to ascertain if herbage accumulation rate can be used as a criterion to establish a defoliation schedule for this grass in Southeast of Brazil. A randomized block design with a s
