1. ELECTRICAL NOISES REDUCTION IN NANOPORES EXPERIMENTS BASED ON CONSENSUS FILTER
Nanopore has developed into an indispensable tool for single molecules experiments, where useful information about the characteristics of DNA/RNA can be obtained from the flowing of ionic current elicited by individual molecules as they traverse a single nanometer-scale aperture. However, due to the relatively high background current noise and low measuremen

2. Projeto e construção de um eletropermeabilizador de células biológicas / Design and construction of a biological cell electroporator
Electropermeabilization is the process of transient increase in the permeability of biological membranes of cells subjected to intense electric fields. This technique is currently still in development and has important clinical and technological applications such as electrochemotherapy and gene transfer. Electroporator is the equipment used in the generation

3. A low voltage and high efficiency class D amplifier based on sima-delta modulator designed for hearing-aids applications / Amplificador de audio classe D baseado em modulação sigma-delta destinado a aparelhos auditivos
This thesis presents the design of a firstorder ?-? audioband power amplifier optimized for hearing aid (HA) amplification. The majority of HAs use a 1.1V battery and require very low current consumption to improve battery life. This work made use of amplifiers and comparators based on CMOS inverters because such an inverter, with a 1.1V battery, can operate

4. Design of distributed microwave oscillators with reverse feedback. / Projeto de osciladores de microondas distribuídos com realimentação reversa.
In this dissertation, a design methodology applied to microwave reverse feedback distributed voltage controlled oscillators - DVCO - is proposed. This circuit constitutes a new class of oscillators, obtained from reverse feeding back of the distributed amplifier. The main advantage of this topology is its capacity to achieve ultra-wideband frequency tuning.

5. Projeto, desenvolvimento e construção de uma fonte de alta tensão pulsada para polarização de valvulas Klystron
A pulsed high voltage power supply, used for feeding a Klystron RF amplifier, in the Laboratorio Nacional de Luz Síncroton (LNLS) linear accelerator (LlNAC) is described. The design, development, assembling and constructive details are included. The system, named modulator, provides a 3 ?mu?s pulses of 250 kV and 250 A, with voltage stability better than 1%

6. Indo-1 fluorescence signals elicited by membrane depolarization in enzymatically isolated mouse skeletal muscle fibers.
Indo-1 fluorescence signals were measured from one extremity of enzymatically isolated skeletal muscle fibers of mice. An original and simple method was developed to allow the measurements to be made under voltage-clamp control: the major part of a single fiber was embedded in silicone grease, so that only a short portion of one end of the fiber, from which

7. A fast motile response in guinea-pig outer hair cells: the cellular basis of the cochlear amplifier.
1. Outer hair cells from the cochlea of the guinea-pig were isolated and their motile properties studied in short-term culture by the whole-cell variant of the patch recording technique. 2. Cells elongated and shortened when subjected to voltage steps. Cells from both high- and low-frequency regions of the cochlea responded with an elongation when hyperpolar

8. Gradual and stepwise changes in the membrane capacitance of rat peritoneal mast cells.
1. The membrane capacitance of mast cells was monitored under voltage clamp, using sinusoidal excitation and a lock-in amplifier. 2. Degranulation was accompanied by stepwise capacitance increases that presumably represent the fusion of single secretory granules with the cell membrane. Besides capacitance steps, we also observed gradual changes in capacitanc
