1. Influência de diferentes microestruturas de implantes osseointegráveis sobre o tecido ósseo peri-implantar: avaliação histomorfometrica em humanos
Studies have demonstrated that roughness dental implant surfaces show firmer bone fixation and an increased percentage of bone-to-implant contact (BIC%) compared to commercially pure titanium surface (machined) implants. It has also been suggested that implants with roughness surfaces can be loaded earlier then machined implants. Therefore, the purpose of th

2. Can rhBMP-2 Containing Collagen Sponges Enhance Bone Repair in Ovariectomized Rats?: A Preliminary Study
With an aging population the frequency of postmenopausal fractures is increasing. Methods to enhance the repair of osteoporotic bone repair therefore become more important to reduce the society burden of care. We asked if absorbable collagen sponges containing recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2) have the potential to enhance bone repair.

3. Anti-TNF-α antibody allows healing of joint damage in polyarthritic transgenic mice
Anti-tumor-necrosis-factor-α (TNF-α) monoclonal antibody was used to treat Tg197 transgenic mice, which constitutively produce human TNF-α (hTNF-α) and develop a progressive polyarthritic disease. Treatment of both young (7- or 8-week-old) and aged (27- or 28-week-old) mice commenced when at least two limbs showed signs of moderate to severe arthritis. T
