2. In silico prediction of inhibitory potential of a punicalagin β-anomer against SARS-COV-2 main protease (MPRO)
The pandemic caused by the new coronavirus has resulted in a global health emergency and has prompted an urgent need for new treatment strategies. No target-specific drugs are currently available for SARS-CoV-2, but new drug candidates targeting the viral replication cycle are being explored. A prime target of drug-discovery efforts is the SARS-CoV-2 main pr

3. VIBRATION CHARACTERISTICS, CHEMICAL BONDS AND WEAK INTERACTIONS OF 4- AND 5-HYDROXYSALICYLIC ACID INVESTIGATED BY TERAHERTZ SPECTROSCOPY AND DENSITY FUNCTIONAL THEORY
The terahertz (THz) absorption spectra of 4- and 5-hydroxysalicylic acid were measured by terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) in the range of 0.4-2.8 THz. The unit cells of both were calculated by density functional theory (DFT), and the theoretical simulation and experimental data were basically in agreement. To further interpret the origin of the

4. On the Use of a TiO2 Sol-Gel for Horseradish Peroxidase Enzyme Immobilization for Development of an Amperometric Biosensor
The sol-gel technique has drawn considerable attention in the area of biomolecules immobilization by virtue of its intrinsic properties including chemical inertness, thermal stability, and good biocompatibility. The present work reports the development of a bio-sensing methodology which involves the immobilization of horseradish peroxidase enzyme (HRP) on pe

5. Evaluation of the Direct Interaction between Amino Acids and Glutathione-Coated CdTe Quantum Dots and Application in Urinalysis for Histidine Determination
The present work aimed to direct amino acid (AA) sensing by quantum dots (QD) and development of an analytical method for potential fast clinical tests. Notably, AA with a positive charge or neutral polar chains, namely L-histidine (His) and L-threonine (Thr), responded to glutathione-coated CdTe (GSH-CdTe) (ΔF ≤ 90%, variation of fluorescence intensity).

6. CURCUMINA COMO INDICADOR NATURAL DE PH: UMA ABORDAGEM TEÓRICA-EXPERIMENTAL PARA O ENSINO DE QUÍMICA
This paper proposes the development of a simple experiment with easily accessible and low cost materials, enabling its practice with or without laboratory infrastructure, with feasibility for computational theoretical study. On the other hand, the objective of the work is to develop a chemical experiment that demonstrates that the chromophore curcumin (natur

7. Preparation of Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-b-ε-caprolactone) by Reactive Extrusion and Production of Electrospun Fibrous Mats
Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) has been proposed to be a potential candidate to be used as biomaterial. However, its poor processability, high brittleness and rigidity have limited its applicability. Transesterification reactions with poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL), one of the most promising biomedical materials, emerge as an attractive alternative to improve it

10. POLÍMERO DE IMPRESSÃO MOLECULAR PARA O TIACLOPRIDO: UMA INVESTIGAÇÃO TEÓRICA
Thiacloprid (TCP) is a synthetic insecticide, belonging to the class of neonicotinoids (NNCs), which present potential damages to the environment, biodiversity and human health, being necessary its constant monitoring. In this sense, molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) have been shown as an excellent alternative for the separation science, since they can r

11. MECANISMO DE EVOLUÇÃO DE HIDROGÊNIO DURANTE A CORROSÃO DA LIGA 2198-T8 EM MEIO CONTENDO CLORETO: UMA ABORDAGEM ELETROQUÍMICA
Corrosion is still one of the most serious and frequent problems in industries. The phenomena involved in the corrosion mechanism of Al-alloys may be explained by formation of galvanic cells between the metal matrix and heterogeneities, such as precipitates, intermetallic phases leading to potential differences and electrochemical reactions. In the cathodic
