1. Lateral loss of clay in the genesis of Luvisols in the Semi-Arid Depression of the Jequitinhonha Valley, Minas Gerais - Brazil

2. Pedogenesis in an Archaeological Dark Earth – Mulatto Earth Catena over Volcanic Rocks in Western Amazonia, Brazil
ABSTRACT Archaeological Dark Earth (ADE) pedogenesis and pre-Columbian history are fundamental for understanding the biodiversity and pedodiversity of the Neotropical rainforest in the Amazon region. This study aimed to evaluate the morphological, physical, chemical, and mineralogical properties as well as NaOH-extractable organic matter [OM(NaOH)] in ADE an

4. Spatial distribution of carbon, nutrients and soil in luvisols under traditional farming systems and agroforestry in Sobral-CE Distribuição espacial de carbono, nutrientes e solo em Luvissolos sob sistemas agrícolas tradicionais e agroflorestais no município de Sobral-CE / Distribuição espacial de carbono, nutrientes e solo em Luvissolos sob sistemas agrícolas tradicionais e agroflorestais no município de Sobral-CE

5. Mineralogy, micromorphology, genesis and classification of Luvisols e Planosols developed from metamorphic rocks in the semi-arid of Brazilian Northeast / Mineralogia, micromorfologia, gênese e classificação de Luvissolos e Planossolos desenvolvidos de rochas metamórficas no semi-árido do Nordeste brasileiro
The semi-arid areas of Northeast Brazil have approximately 750,000 km2, corresponding to 60% of the total region extension. In this bioclimatic domain, exception for the sedimentary Paleo/Mesozoic areas, the soils have small poor to moderate development degree and are classified as Neosols, Luvisols and Planosols, sometimes surveyed as soil associations, in

6. Solos do Projeto Xingó: caracterização e limitações ao uso com agricultura irrigada / Soil of the Xingó Project: characterization and limitations to irrigated land use
Soil research aiming irrigated land use have great importance in the semiarid Sertão zone of Sergipe state. With this purpose, four soil profiles were characterized and classified along a topossequence, including two Regolithic Nesols, a Planosol and a Luvisol. The objectives were to evaluate soil potential for irrigated land use and to produce information

7. Bacterial Diversity in Agricultural Soils during Litter Decomposition
Denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) of amplified fragments of genes coding for 16S rRNA was used to study the development of bacterial communities during decomposition of crop residues in agricultural soils. Ten strains were tested, and eight of these strains produced a single band. Furthermore, a mixture of strains yielded distinguishable bands.
