1. Extremely high Faraday and Kerr rotations and extraordinary optical transmission in four-layer dielectric-metal strips-dielectric-Bi:YIG planar structure
Abstract Faraday and Kerr effects as well as the extraordinary optical transmission in a structure that combines magneto-optical and plasmonic properties are studied. The planar structure consists of four layers, namely, dielectric layer, metal strips, once again dieletric layer and magneto-optic one. The magneto-optical layer is magnetized by a DC magnetic

2. Espectroscopia de fósforo por ressonância magnética em malformações do desenvolvimento cortical
IntroductionMalformations of cortical development (MCD) result from disruptions in the dynamic process of cerebral corticogenesis and are important causes of epilepsy, motor deficits and cognitive impairment.ObjectivesThe aim of this study was to evaluate phospholipids metabolism in vivo in a series of patients with epilepsy and MCD.MethodsThirty-seven patie

3. Excitação de ondas de helicon e de Alfvén em tokamak TCABR / Excitation of Helicon and Alfvén waves in tokamak TCABR
The objective of this work is to investigate the excitation of waves in a plasma using an antenna and to analyse the Alfvén resonances found. The Alfvén antenna heating system of the TCABR tokamak was designed to heat the plasma due to resonances. As the diodes of the toroidal field had burned down we used cleaning discharges, with low toroidal magnetic fi

4. STM probing of local oscillations of the Fano-Kondo effect: a Doniach-Sunjic approach for the Kondo peak
The use of the scanning tunneling microscope (STM) for the investigation of Kondo adatoms on normal metallic surfaces reveals a Fano-Kondo behavior of the conductance as a function of the tip bias. In this work, the Doniach-Sunjic expression is used to describe the Kondo peak and we analyze the effect of a complex Fano phase, arising from an external magneti

5. Multicamadas magnéticas de telureto de európio e semicondutores iv-vi crescidas por epitaxia de feixe molecular / Magnetic multilayers of europium telluride and IV-VI semiconductors grown by molecular beam epitaxy
In this work, thin EuTe films and EuTe/PbTe(SnTe) superlattices were grown, and their structural and magnetic properties were characterized. The molecular beam epitaxial growth parameters of the samples were optimized, particularly those of the EuTe/SnTe SLs. To this goal, the growth modes of EuTe on SnTe and vice versa were investigated, and the influence o

6. Quantum transport of electrons through a parallel-coupled triple quantum-dot molecule
In this article we study the electronic transport through a triple quantum-dot molecule parallel-coupled to leads under a magnetic field. Analytical expressions are obtained for both the conductance and total density of states for the molecule in equilibrium at zero temperature. As a result of quantum interference of resonances belonging to different channel

7. Theory and computer modelling of Alfvén wave heating in TCABR Tokamak / "Teoria e modelamento computacional de aquecimento de plasma por ondas de alfvén no tokamak TCABR"
In this work we present the study of the determination the best regimes and parameters¶for the heating experiments and current generation and plasma flow in the tokamak TCABR. Study of effects of plasma rotation in low frequency (LF), field penetration, absorption and ponderomotive forces in Tokamak Chauffage Alfvén Brésilien (TCABR)is investigated wi

8. Parallel permittivity elements for radio frequency waves in elongated D-shaped tokamaks
Parallel permittivity elements are derived for radio-frequency waves in an axisymmetric tokamak with D-shaped transverse cross-sections of the magnetic surfaces under arbitrary aspect ratio, arbitrary elongation and small triangularity. The bounce resonances are taken into account for untrapped (passing or circulating) and three groups of trapped particles.

9. Evolution from commensurability to size-effects structures in three-dimensional billiards
We calculated the classical electron dynamics of three-dimensional electrons in a billiard system in tilted magnetic field and analyzed the evolution of trajectories in phase space by means of Poincaré space of sections. The low field magnetoresistance rhoxx was calculated through linear response theory and found that nonlinear resonances between the cyclot

10. Multiple scattering of electromagnetic waves in disordered magnetic media: localization parameter, energy transport velocity and diffusion constant
We review some of our recent results concerning the single and multiple eletromagnetic scattering by magnetic spherical particles. For a single electromagnetic scattering we show that the magnetic contribution alters, when compared to nonmagnetic scattering, the behavior of the cross sections and mean cosine of the scattering angle (á

11. Heteroestruturas de semicondutores na presença de campos AC intensos
The study of coupling of the electronic structure of a semiconductor heterostructure with strong AC fields, is the main purpose of the present work. The interaction of the electronic structure of a heterostructure with an AC field of determined frequency is given by a time-independent Hamiltonian which replaces a semiclassic time- dependent Hamiltonian. The

12. Interação de neutrinos com campos magneticos rotantes
We investigate the possibility of obtaining neutrino magnetic moment experimental limits through controled experiments of chirality conversion. Because right-handed neutrinos do not interact with matter, a suppression detection related to the initial neutrino flux could give us a value to its magnetic moment, or in the absence of such suppression, new experi
