1. A two band model for superconductivity: probing interband pair formation
We propose a two band model for superconductivity. It turns out that the simplest nontrivial case considers solely interband scattering, and both bands can be modeled as symmetric (around the Fermi level) and flat, thus each band is completely characterized by its half-band width Wn (n=1,2). A useful dimensionless parameter is d, proportional to W2 - W1. The

2. ESTUDO DA FUSÃO E SOLIDIFICAÇÃO DA FASE BI-2212 E SEUS MECANISMOS DE SUPERCONDUÇÃO / STUDY OF BI-2212 PHASE MELTING AND SOLIDIFICATION AND ITS SUPERCONDUCTING MECHANISMS
High temperature superconductivity was discovered in 1986. Since then more than 150 new superconductors (cuprates, bismuthates, borides and fullerite) with critical temperature higher then 23,3K (the highest critical temperature for low temperature superconductors) have been synthesized. Many of them rise interest from the scientific viewpoint and are suitab

4. Toward room temperature superconductivity?
The last 12 months have witnessed frenzied activity in condensed matter physics, unmatched by any other since the invention of the laser. In this article, we summarize the status, promise, and problems in the field of high-temperature superconductivity. We also comment on the mechanisms and policies needed for the United States to economically benefit from t
