1. Electroremediation of deactivated catalysts from fluidised catalytic cracking for vanadium removal - the effect of a dual cathode chamber reactor
Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the quantity of vanadium removed through electrokinetic remediation applied to catalyst waste used in a fluid catalytic cracking process. In excess, vanadium affects process efficiency by reducing the catalyst’s activity, causing deactivation and reducing its useful life in petroleum cracking during refining.

2. Hydrodynamics of an external-loop airlift reactor with inserted membrane
Abstract The objective of this study was to investigate the hydrodynamics of an external-loop airlift membrane reactor (ELAMR). The ELAMR was operated in two modes: without (mode A) and with bubbles in the downcomer (mode B), depending on the liquid level in the gas separator. The influence of the gas distributor’s geometry and various alcohol solutions on

3. EVALUATING HYDROGEN PRODUCTION IN BIOGAS REFORMING IN A MEMBRANE REACTOR
Abstract Syngas and hydrogen production by methane reforming of a biogas (CH4/CO2 = 2.85) using carbon dioxide was evaluated in a fixed bed reactor with a Pd-Ag membrane in the presence of a nickel catalyst (Ni 3.31% weight)/γ-Al2O3) at 773 K, 823 K, and 873 K and 1.01×105 Pa. Operation with hydrogen permeation at 873 K increased the methane conversion to

4. Sucrose hydrolysis by invertase using a membrane reactor: effect of membrane cut-off on enzyme performance

5. Oxygen air enrichment through composite membrane: application to an aerated biofilm reactor
A highly permeable composite hollow-fibre membrane developed for air separation was used in a membrane aerated biofilm reactor (MABR). The composite membrane consisted of a porous support layer covered with a thin dense film, which was responsible for oxygen enrichment of the permeate stream. Besides oxygen enrichment capability, dense membranes overcome maj

6. Parametric study of hydrogen production from ethanol steam reforming in a membrane microreactor
Microreactors are miniaturized chemical reaction systems, which contain reaction channels with characteristic dimensions in the range of 10-500 µm. One possible application for microreactors is the conversion of ethanol to hydrogen used in fuel cells to generate electricity. In this paper a rigorous isothermal, steady-state two-dimensional model was develop

7. Recuperação de enxofre elementar em reatores microaerados / Sulfur recovery in micro-aerobic reactors
The occurrence of biological sulfate reduction results in the formation of unwanted hydrogen sulfide, which can be removal under oxygen-limiting conditions. Detailed knowledge of this process remains unclear and the micro aeration process was prevented by technological limitations. For these reasons, the chemical and biological oxidation of sulfide was studi

8. Experimental study of lactose hydrolysis and separation in cstr-uf membrane reactor
In this study, the effect of processing conditions on the performance of continuous stirred tank -ultrafiltration (CSTR-UF) in dead - end mode was investigated. An UF membrane with a molecular weight cutoff of 3 kDa made of regenerated cellulose material was used to separate enzyme from products. The effect of operating pressure ranging between 2 and 5 bar a

11. Catalisadores à base de platina frente a correntes de H2 contendo acetaldeído geradas via reforma do etanol / Platinum-based catalystic in the face of current H2 containing acthaldehyde generated via reforming of ethanol
Due to the greenhouse effect, hydrogen production from bioethanol reforming is a very important subject in heterogeneous catalysis research. Pt based catalysts are employed in H2 purification processes and also as electrocatalysts of PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) fuel cells. Hydrogen obtained from ethanol reforming may contain acetaldehyde and small amounts
