1. Green Synthesis of Upconverting NaYF4 and NaGdF4 Materials and Energy Levels Determination
An alternative green route using a domestic microwave oven to synthesize NaGdF4:Yb,Tm and NaYF4:Yb,Er was successfully developed. Decreasing dopants concentration increased the β-NaREF4/α-NaREF4 ratio in NaGdF4. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images of NaGdF4 showed particles ranging from 500 nm to 1 μm with formation of aggregates up to 100 μm,

2. Phase and microstructural analysis of NdTi0.8M0.2O3.4 (M = Al, Ga) microwave ceramics
ABSTRACT In this paper, we report the characterization of NdTi0.8M0.2O3.4 (M = Ga, Al) ceramics prepared via mixed oxide solid state sintering route. X-ray diffraction analysis of the samples revealed the formation of single phase for NdTi0.8Ga0.2O3.4 sample while secondary phase was formed in the case of NdTi0.8Al0.2O3.4. Microstructural analysis of the sam

3. Microwave radiation influence on the thermal and spectroscopic properties of Na-birnessite-type material

4. Evaluation of the Acid Baking Technique to Decrease the Phosphorus Content of the Iron Ore
Unlike the available mineral resources, the steelmaking processes have demanded raw material with lower phosphorus content to decrease the costs, energy use, and the residue generated within the steel plant. One alternative is to develop pretreatment of the iron ore concentrates producing raw materials with lower phosphorus. Depending on the mineral structur

5. Development of a microwave absorbing material based on molybdenum-doped niobium pentoxide
Abstract This work aimed to perform the characterization of electrical properties of niobium pentoxide, Nb2O5, pure and doped with molybdenum, prepared by powder metallurgy route and to do a comparative analysis of the influence of this material when sintered in a muffle or in a microwave oven. The results showed that the doping of the niobium pentoxide with

6. Microstructural and Electrochemical behaviour of Aluminium Alloy Composites Produced Using Different Sintering Techniques
Present research work analyses the effect of heating modes on the densification, microstructure and mechanical properties of aluminum alloys [65Al-20Cu-15Mn] fabricated through powder metallurgy route. Sintering of compacts using conventional, microwave and spark plasma sintering methods has been carried out at 525°C. From the results, it has been observed

7. Microwave Absorbing Properties of NiFe2O4 Nanosheets Synthesized Via a Simple Surfactant-Assisted Solution Route
NiFe2O4 nanosheets have been synthesized via a simple surfactant-assisted solution route, which are confirmed by X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The NiFe2O4 sample exhibits the sheet-like structure, with width varying from 200 to 800 nm and thickness ranging from 20 to 60 nm. The electromagnetic pr

8. Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity of Pure Anatase Tio2 and Pt-Tio2 Nanoparticles Synthesized by Green Microwave Assisted Route
High-yield, rapid and facile synthesis of elongated pure anatase titania nanoparticles has been achieved through a nonaqueous microwave-based approach. The residual organics onto nanoparticles surfaces were completely removed through a new treatment under ozone flow, at room temperature in air. Such an ozone cleaning method revealed an effective inexpensive

9. Síntese da fenitoína assistida por micro-ondas: proposta de aula prática para alunos de graduação
Microwave synthesis is considered a breakthrough in the field of chemistry due to its benefits over conventional heating methods. We describe, for the first time, the total synthesis of phenytoin adapted for a microwave reactor, proposed as an experiment for undergraduate courses. When carried out with microwaves, the synthetic route provided phenytoin in 6

11. Processamento e estudo de ortoniobatos de terras raras e ortotungstatos de metais alcalinos terrosos
Two classes of orthoceramic compounds of general formula ABO4 were investigated in this work. The first group includes the lanthanide orthoniobates (RENbO4, RE = La-Lu, except Pm), which were synthesized by conventional solid-state route at 1150C in different conditions of time aiming the production of crystalline, single phase materials. 12. Estudo das propriedades estruturais e elÃtricas das granadas ferrimagnÃticas GdIGXYIG1-X e suas aplicaÃÃes em componentes de microondas. / Study of the strutural and electric properties of garnets ferrimagnetc GdIGXYIG1-X and its aplications in componentes of microwaves.
Due to a fast progress in the development of communication systems, the dielectric and magnetic ceramics (ferrites) have become attractive to be used in devices. Although the ferrites of the spinel type were the first material used in the microwave range, garnets have smaller dielectric losses and, therefore, are chosen for many applications. High demands fo
