5. SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF NANOSTRUCTURED IRON-NICKEL ALLOYS / SÍNTESE E CARACTERIZAÇÃO DE LIGAS FE-NI NANOESTRUTURADAS
Nickel oxide and hematite nanostructured were successfully prepared by thermal decomposition from nickel nitrate hexahydrate and ferric nitrate nonahydrate in the temperature range of 350-450°C with variation of the time. The average crystallite sizes of NiO and Fe2O3 were estimated from X-ray diffraction (XRD) peaks using the PowderCell and Topas software.

Equal Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP) is the most prominent SPD (Severe Plastic Deformation) method for the production of ultrafine and nanostructured metals, and has been extensively employed and analyzed.
